Hi Everyone,
I’m setting up my CSV for import but don’t see the “Product Category” in the CSV or the Header Text file. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jack

I imported all my products (without Category IDs). Once the products were imported, I used PHPMyAdmin to export the products table to get the prod_id values that were auto assigned by the cart. Then I assigned the category number to each product in a spreadsheet with the headers cat_id (for the category) and prod_id (product ID from the product table export). I exported this as a CSV and used WP CSV To DB to import the data to the table named “wp_wp_eStore_cat_prod_rel_tbl” and set this as the “Database Column Names” –> cat_id,prod_id. Hit the magic button and TADAAA….done
You have the easiest cart to work with!!!! Love it

August 10, 2011 at 2:37 pm #34432SusnosMemberThanks for the hint! I was just getting nuts for not being able to assign the products a category in my CSV! I not using WP CSV, just export and import using PHPMyAdmin. So when I have imported my products, I just export them to get the product ID. Then I can fill in the DB tbl. “wp_wp_eStore_cat_prod_rel_tbl” and assign them with the proper category ID! Love it! Thanks for the head up!

March 22, 2012 at 7:38 am #34436suchaMemberThanks for the quick reply! Sorry, I try to formulate more precisely. So far, the free WP eCommerce plugin I used on my site. I bought the eStore plugin, and I did it. Unfortunately, it did not take over the previously established categories and products. I would not again be applied manually, so seeking a practical solution.
Thx

March 22, 2012 at 11:09 pm #34437adminKeymasterThank you for the explanation. There is no one click button that will import your other e-commerce plugin’s data into eStore.
You will need to export the product data from your other plugin’s database table and then format it in the way eStore needs and import it into eStore’s table.
The above mentioned video tutorial and the following post should help you some:
