Product Box shortcode not working – see this code – what’s happening? Tried it on 2 WP sites, we have been using WP Shopping Cart forever and it’s perfect.
So we decided to use Product Box shortcodes – no cigar. Just a blank page.
We used the code provided here:
(We replaced the .jpg with our own hosted image URL):
[wp_cart_display_product name=”My Awesome Product” price=”25.00″ thumbnail=”http://www.example.com/images/product-image.jpg” description=”This is a short description of the product” var1=”Size|Small|Medium|Large” var2=”Color|Red|Blue|Green|Black”]
We can’t even get the button to show up if we use this code above the button shortcode.
We’re using 4.2.2 and 3.8.5 on two different sites, different templates. (Minamaze and Sahifa respectively)
No problems with the shortcodes for our sales, ever.
Tried changing the “” just in case the font was changed from copy to paste. Nothing.
Something amiss here? It’s privately published on one site, and behind a ‘coming soon’ on another.
It also deleted the Admin bar at the top of WordPress on both sites. We had to go back with the browser button to continue work.
Is it a PHP thing? We’re on 5.1.
Thanks a million!
May 11, 2015 at 11:45 pm #69984wpCommerceModeratorHi, Are you using the latest version of Simple shopping cart plugin?

May 12, 2015 at 11:29 am #69985sprMemberNo, but it didn’t make any difference – I updated it, but now I have this in red on the published page:
“Error! You must specify a product name in the shortcode.”
I used this code:
[wp_cart_display_product name=”Review JS” price=”69.00″ thumbnail=”our jpg image here” description=”This is a short description of the product” var1=”Size|Small|Medium|Large” var2=”Color|Red|Blue|Green|Black”]

May 12, 2015 at 11:37 am #69987sprMemberOK – this is WEIRD! I fixed it. The “” marks were curly in your sample code. I went through once more and changed them all. Then it worked! Thanks!
April 17, 2017 at 5:11 pm #69988andyhewingMemberI have put the shortcode [wp_eStore_product_search] into my page(backend) and it is appearing in exactly the same form when I view the page in Chrome. Please advise.

The “wp_eStore_” shortcodes only work with our WP eStore plugin:
Shortcodes that work with the Simple WP Shopping Cart use “wp_cart_” shortcodes.
April 17, 2017 at 11:50 pm #69990adminKeymasterAre you using the Simple WP Shopping Cart or the WP eStore plugin?
If you are using eStore, that shortcode comes from the extra estore shortcodes addon. If you are using eStore plugin then you also need to install the extra shortcodes addon. Have you installed that addon?
You can find that addon in the following page:
