I was advised to update the WP eStore plugin to get a feature that was missing that I required. But when I try to install the updated plugin, the following message appears: “Destination folder already exists. Plugin install failed.” But I have already deactivated the plugin and deleted the folder.
April 4, 2011 at 7:53 pm #31052wzpModeratorAre you following these upgrade instructions?
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wordpress-estore-installation-and-usage-guide-31
How exactly did you get the error message?
April 4, 2011 at 8:16 pm #31053holistikMemberI followed the instructions sent by email but I was trying to upload the plugin in WordPress itself not the folder wp-cart-for-digital-products to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory in Hostgator. Is this the problem?
Many thanks
April 4, 2011 at 9:08 pm #31054wzpModeratorYou must follow the directions in the previously mentioned URL. Do not use WordPress to do the upgrade.
April 4, 2011 at 9:27 pm #31055holistikMemberCould you clarify whether I should delete the folder “wp-cart-for-digital-products” in the web host directory?
April 4, 2011 at 9:37 pm #31056holistikMember(I have been following Method 2 because I don’t have the FTP client)
April 4, 2011 at 9:53 pm #31057holistikMemberThe plugin has now been installed but when I try to go to the settings menu, the following message comes up: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
April 4, 2011 at 9:59 pm #31058wzpModeratorI’m going to assume that you did something like this…
1. Deactivate plugin
2. Delete existing plugin folder.
3. Uploaded zip file.
4. Unzip file into the plugin directory.
5. Activate plugin.
Is this correct?
If you don’t have FTP, how did you upload the zip file?
April 4, 2011 at 10:45 pm #31059holistikMemberYes, that’s what I did but at first, I had problems deleting the existing plugin folder. I got your message about not using WordPress after I’d already uploaded the zip file there. Should I start again? Is it possible to install the upgrade without using FTP?
April 4, 2011 at 11:04 pm #31060wzpModeratorYes, please try from the beginning.
If you have Firefox, you can use the FireFTP plugin; which gives you FTP from within Firefox. I use it all the time…
April 5, 2011 at 12:03 pm #31061holistikMemberI have used the FireFTP plugin to upload the folder into the plugins directory and activated the plugin.
But the same message appears when I click on “Settings” in the “Manage PlugIns” section of WordPress: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” What does this mean?
Many thanks
April 5, 2011 at 9:02 pm #31062wzpModeratorPlease see if any of these apply to your situation…

April 5, 2011 at 9:48 pm #31063holistikMemberI’ve now removed two plugins (Ozh Drop Down Menu and Google Analyticator) as recommended in the plugins test.
I then uploaded the WP cart folder into the plugins directory again using FireFTP but now WP eStore is not appearing in the plugins menu in WordPress so that it can be activated.
April 5, 2011 at 10:52 pm #31064wzpModeratorI think maybe Amin is going to have to look at your system. Obviously, there is some kind of conflict going on…
April 5, 2011 at 11:29 pm #31065holistikMemberWill he need details to access my system?
