I did a live payment test of a product, but PDF stamper did not include address and phone number when stamp customer information on PDF pages.

Is there a setting I needed to set in order for address and phone number of the customer to be included at stamp?

Hi, Did you put the phone and email tags in the “Footer Text Setting”? The following page will explain more about how to do this:

How to configure the settings menu

Note: You will need to turn on the “Collect Phone Number Setting” in your PayPal account. This can be found in your PayPal Profile.

Customer address was also missing as well as phone number, is this a paypal setting as well?

Are you using a “Buy Now” type button? Normally if it’s purely a digital product then eStore makes it so it doesn’t ask for address. I can force an address collection if used with PDF stamper as a workaround.

Yes, test was done with buy now button:

    [wp_eStore_buy_now:product_id:1:end]

For force address collection do I need another version of PDF stamper and/or eStore?

Just use “0.001” in the shipping field of this product and it will trigger a force address collection.

The “0.001” value won’t add any shipping charge to the total so no problem there.

I did that 0.001 thing on PDF Stamper and it still didn’t record shipping address. The shipping address did show up on paypal’s website though. Buy doing what you said in paypal it now tells the customer that I require their phone number. I’ll see if that’s good or bad, paypal says it may have a negative effect on pay through rates. At least it records the main email address they use on paypal though.

I have the below settings on pdf stamper:

Licensed to {customer_name} of {customer_address}. {customer_phone} {customer_email}. Only the name, email address, and phone number get recorded.

I am not a big fan of requiring phone numbers (the less required fields are out that the better the conversion rate). This is why I don’t even collect the shipping address on the site as 2nd step which most shopping carts tend to do.

If you want to stamp the “Phone number” then you will need to make it mandatory. It all really depends on what you want.

New (very happy) user of eStore and PDF Stamper here, right now sandbox testing with Paypal and am running into the same issue as the original poster of this thread. Everything worked fine when the user had to manually return to my site from Paypal after the purchase, but now that I have PDT working the PDF files are stamped with just:

    “Licensed to Test User of , , , . Email address: brent_1295058388_per@deshazer.net”

Before this they looked like this:

“Licensed to Test User of 1 Main St, San Jose, CA 95131, United States. Email address: brent_1295058388_per@deshazer.net”

The $0.001 shipping amount trick did not work for me either.

Not too worried about the phone number but it would be nice to have the address in there…

That means the address wasn’t passed to the thank you page from PayPal. What kind of button are you using? Please post a link to the page where you have the button.

and here is the code for that page (dashes added by me here for clarity):

About my Photoshop actions and scripts…

    [wp_eStore_category_products:category_id:1:end]

    [wp_eStore_cart_fancy1_when_not_empty]

I’m also using the widget in my sidebar, with the code modification to only appear if the cart is not empty.

    Thanks!

I just did a sandbox transaction and when I went to the “Payment Confirmation” page I could see an address in the “Ship To” field which means that value will be posted after the transaction. Do you see a value in the “Ship To” field when you do your checkout?

Yes, the following shows up as the “Ship To” information on the confirmation page:

    Test User

    1 Main St

    San Jose, CA 95131

    United States

BTW, I may have confused things for you, I believe I had removed the address field from the footer text option when you did your test. I have restored it and just did another test, verifying that the ship-to address in my previous post was on the confirmation page. The stamped pdf just has a bunch of commas where the address should be, like copied/pasted in my first post on page 1 of this thread.

Feel free to test again if you like and check out the PDF, the PDF is just a test file at this point anyway…

Any ideas on this or anything else I can do to troubleshoot?
