problem with membership level expiry date for new members

I have members that bought their membership when there were no expiry date.

I would like now to install an expiry date for my membership level but when I do so,

it automatically change the members who were already there with no expiry date.

How can I fix an expiry date for the next members without affecting the actual ones?

Hi, I think it’s better to do the following:

1) Create a new membership level with the same details as the existing one

2) Set an expiry date for this new level

3) Replace your existing membership payment button with the new one.

Now new members will automatically subscribe to the new membership level while the existing members remain unaffected.
