PS anyway if I did go for the automatic update via email I don’t appear to have a product key for WP estore, only for the PDF stamper, regardless of the fact that I purchased them together?
Using the latest version may correct the problems you are having.
The .htaccess file that is mentioned is in the downloads folder of the plugin. The “.” at the beginning of the file name makes it invisible. Akso there is an empty index.html file in that folder used to prevent people from casually browsing for download files. Using an FTP client will allow you to see the real contents of the folder.
The plugin must be manually updated according to these instructions…

Upgrading an existing eStore installation does not require license reactivation.

Oh yeah, you mentioned you also have the PDF Stamper as well. Try to verify that eStore works with unstamped files first, before trying to get it working with stamped files.

have done the update and kept the settings as you said and it’s coming up with the error 404 file not found!
would really love to have this resolved by the end of the weekend and I would also love to have the download link viewable on the Thank you page. I see that Paypal’s new checkout is now fully in place and am just wondering if that means that the Thank you page with the download (encrypted I trust) will be able to show or not?
please let me know asap.

Hi, I have sent you an email regarding this issue. I will need to take a closer look at your site. I have sent you a site access request. Also I explained how to setup the PDT option. You will need to set this up as this is how the post payment processing happens (e.g. links shown on the thank you page, post sale clean up and so on).
