Hi there, I’ve had a browse around but cannot find any hints to solve this problem.
I setup an eStore installation back in October 2009 and it worked fine until a few weeks ago. However recently it has stopped working and now returns a “Requested File Could Not Be Found” when clicking on the download link in the email received by the customer after payment. If I generate my own download link in the Admin section I get the same message. The direct unencrypted download link works.
Any ideas would be gratefully received
June 27, 2010 at 12:27 am #22018IvyMemberHi, Did you make any changes to your site around the time the plugin stopped working?
Something had to have changed for the plugin to stop working.
If you can give us a little clue as to what has changed then we should be able to tell you how to fix it. If you have no idea that’s fine I should be able to take a look at your site and see what is going on.
June 28, 2010 at 11:35 pm #22019thoughtonMemberHi
There haven’t been any changes that I’m aware of. It’s been a while since I worked on this site, it looks like there might be a couple of new plugins installed by the SEO guy (‘Embed iframe’ and ‘WP Super Edit’), but I have disabled both of them and the download problem remains.
Would it be useful if I emailed you an encrypted download link?
Thanks for your time!
June 29, 2010 at 1:02 am #22020IvyMemberHi, We will need to take a closer look at what is happening. I will send you a site access request email. Please let me know if you do not receive this email.
June 29, 2010 at 9:18 am #22021thoughtonMemberThanks Ivy! I have completed the site access form.
October 24, 2010 at 6:45 pm #22022dhancheyMemberI have just had the same problem. I added a store page: http://mywpworks.com/store. And, I added an icon for the My Calendar ebook I sell. Would that affect it?
Thanks,
Debbie

October 31, 2010 at 8:11 pm #22024dhancheyMemberHi Ivy,
First, I have checked to receive email updates of this thread but the emails never come.
1. URL works.
2. Those files aren’t in the download directory.
3. No spaces.
4. I don’t understand this so I don’t want to touch it.
5. File downloaded with no problem for two months so it must not be too large.
6. No caching plugin, that thing brought my site down so I uninstalled it.
I sell 3 products. Two download links continue to work without a problem. It is this one product that is causing the problem.
October 31, 2010 at 8:13 pm #22025dhancheyMemberI added a MailChimp signup to this product. Could that have anything to do with it?
October 31, 2010 at 8:23 pm #22026dhancheyMemberI just created a MailChimp list for each product and entered the list name to the product autoresponder settings. Let’s see if that fixes it.
November 1, 2010 at 4:50 am #22027amin007ParticipantThe mailchimp integration should not have anything to do with it. We have added different download option to the plugin so it works on different server configurations. Please try selecting a method then generate a link form the “Admin Menu” and see if it works. If it doesn’t then select the next one. I am pretty sure one of the methods will work. Once you find the one that works for you just use that going forward.
November 1, 2010 at 10:55 am #22028dhancheyMemberWhere exactly are the download options you mention?
I have 3 products. The other two work okay. It is only this one that causes the file error. And it used to work. If it were the server, they wouldn’t work either, correct?
I generated a new encrypted link.
I haven’t received an update to the plugin lately. When was it updated?
Thanks,
Debbie

November 8, 2010 at 10:12 pm #22030dhancheyMemberI received an email today from a customer. The encrypted link is NOT working…still.
Any ideas?
It is only one product. The other products work.
November 8, 2010 at 10:25 pm #22031dhancheyMemberOkay, wait. I was using Pretty Link url shortener for the link to the product download. I have now changed that to the actual download link. Let’s see if that fixes it.
