I added the shopping card short code at the end of the product page and checked “Allow Shopping Cart Anchor”. When people add a product to cart, the page can automatically go the the anchor #wp_cart_anchor; and when people enter a coupon code now, and hit apply, the page will stay at the anchor #wp_cart_anchor. However, if people enter a coupon for a second time, the anchor disappears in the URL, and the page goes to the top of the product page.
Is it possible to keep the page at the shopping cart anchor #wp_cart_anchor, no matter how many times people enter coupon code?
I mean, every time when people enter a coupon code and click apply, the page can go back to (actually stays at) the shopping anchor “#wp_cart_anchor”, instead of going to the very top of the page. Possible?
Thank you!

Not sure why you are seeing any other behavior. Have you made any change to the code? Please post a link to your products page so I can go and take a look. What browser are you using to test?

I am using IE.
Try to enter a random coupon code 2 to 3 times, somehow it just lost the anchor in the URL (the very first time was fine). you can also see this when pointing to the “apply” button, at the beginning, it shows http://www.domainname.com/…/online-store/#…., later the #…. disappeared.
If you want to try a real coupon code, please use “test” without the quote “”.
Thanks a lot for your help

I think I know why your site is showing a different behavior though. You seem to have a lot of Javascript violations on this page which is making it to act abnormally. After the page loads if you look at the lower left corner of the browser’s status bar you will see a yellow warning sign. If you double click that icon it will show you the specific errors. Please fix those errors and then the anchor will work normally.

I tried it on another new PC with IE8, same result.
I also recorded the page in action, the first time after I applied the coupon, it went back to the anchor; but starting from the second, and the third time I tried, it went to the top of the page, you can see the anchor in the URL is gone, and I didn’t see the yellow warning.

Hopefully, we can find out what is the problem of my website.
Thanks!

Let me know if you see anything different after the update.
