I’m just wondering if it’s possible to populate customer details from a sale on more than one MailChimp list. I thought putting in a list name for the autoresponder settings for individual product might populate both the global list and the individual one, but it only populates the individual.
I would like customers to signup to a list as customers for that specific product, and also to the general newsletter list we have in MailChimp.
February 24, 2014 at 8:03 pm #61030StarCircleAcademyMemberThe way I do this is as follows:
I have an autoresponder which fires whenever someone is added to any group in my list. This autoresponder sends an email welcoming them and asking them to update their email preferences – or unsubscribe completely if they wish.
I *would* like to have some clever logic to conditionally add customers to one or more lists based on the variations they may choose in the product. For example, if I have a “notify me about updates” or “do not notify me” option, I could add a user to the “Tell Me about Updates” group.
February 25, 2014 at 12:20 am #61031adminKeymaster@pinetribe, you can add a customer to both your lists (the global one and a product specific one). Do you have both of those options configured?
@StarCircleAcademy, what you explained is probably going to need custom job.
February 25, 2014 at 11:34 am #61032pinetribeMemberYes I have both configured. But it seems that as soon as I put in the product specific list in the product autoresponder settings it overrides the global settings so the email is only added to the product specific list and not the global one…
February 25, 2014 at 10:38 pm #61033adminKeymasterI know for sure that it does both. You are using 2 different list names right (one for your product and one for the global one)?
Lets enable debug on your site to see what setup might be wrong on this site. Please enable debug and do a test transaction then share the URL of your site so I can check it:

February 27, 2014 at 2:07 pm #61034pinetribeMemberSweet. It is working. For some reason it didn’t work with my test, but it’s working with our current customers. I think it has something to do with me changing the email on my PayPal account and that email already being in the global list.
Thanks for the help
