Tagged: catalog IDs
I just purchased the plugin and am trying to set up print estore. I have pre-established catalog IDs for each photo. I am running into two problems with setting up the store, both of which are related to how the program assigns IDs.
The first is that the IDs are assigned when uploading the photos, which in itself is not a problem. I need to be able to add the catalog ID to each photo somehow and have that catalog ID show in the Pay Pal order form (rather than the assigned ID).
The second problem is that I want to set up multiple galleries that may have the same photo. For example, the same photo may appear in the Belmont gallery and in the Textile Mills gallery. But when I create new galleries, the program assigns a new ID. So I end up the same photo appearing in multiple galleries with new IDs assigned, none of which seem to allow me to identify the catalog ID which is necessary to fulfilling the order.
Please help me understand if I am doing something wrong or if the problem is that the plugin cannot do what I need it to do.
Hi,
Your requirement is very unique and specialised and hence the photo seller plugin doesn’t currently handle your exact scenario.
However having had a brief think about this, there is probably a little workaround your can try.
Why not incorporate your catalogue IDs in the photo title/name?
eg, “Lake Michigan in Winter – ID1234567”
This way, when a sale is made, the catalogue ID will always appear in your photo seller sales receipt because the photo seller plugin lists the photos which were sold along with their titles.
It also doesn’t matter if the photo appears in different galleries because the title and unique catalogue IDs will always be correct for each individual photo.
