I have few questions, answers to which I couldn’t find on forum
1. Is there a way to stamp pdf files with subscriber email that they use to log in in order to download the file?
2. For my pdf files I create single downloadable packages using WP Download manager [http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/] to hide actual links,
I don’t upload pdf in the package, but use the external link to pdf, which is now ../wp-content/plugins/wp-pdf-stamper/PDF_FILENAME
will plugin stamp those as well?
Thank you in advance for info and support,
Best regards,
Yulia

February 11, 2014 at 11:37 pm #60776lampiMemberThank you for reply, it stamps files faultlessly, except that by clicking “download” it opens pdf file instead of immediate download so there is a possibility that registered customers will share direct link to the file with unregistered ones. Any suggestion?

Yulia

That stamped file is temporary because you can set the plugin to auto delete those files every X number of days (for example). Also the stamped file will have the user’s personal details. So you don’t have to worry about the location of the stamped file.
With that said, you can apply the following technique to make it download:

Last question: is there a way to refresh location or make a redirect to download or another page after getting “Success! URL/path_to_pdf” message?
August 6, 2015 at 1:55 pm #60779benthallMemberHi. The short WP User short code doesn’t seem to work. I’m trying to add a button for the PDF. When I substitute the URL, paste the short code onto my page, and click the Download button, I get the error message:
Error! Message: Cannot open… ! Error Code: 1An error occurred while trying to stamp the file!
Plus there seems to be something wrong with the short code itself, insofar as the button, instead of reading DOWNLOAD NOW, simply reads “DOWNLOAD — with one set of quotation marks on the left. Can you fix or let me know how to proceed?
Thanks,
Al

After that, edit the page with the shortcode and go to the “Text” mode (so you can see everything). Make sure the shortcode you entered is correct (it doesn’t have extra quotes or other hidden HTML tags).
