We were previously using WP PDF Stamper to stamp certain WooCommerce downloads, but we’re changing around our downloads page to be easier for customers to use. This means doing away with the auto-generated list of download links.

The shortcode presented here: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wp-pdf-stamper/pdf-stamper-creating-a-download-now-button-for-wp-users-242 is not ideal for our situation because the output is a form that interferes with how we planned to present the downloads

This article looked promising for us because we’d be able to have a URL to use for links instead of a form: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wp-pdf-stamper/third-3rd-party-integration-guide-http-get-method-28

Constructing the GET url gave the success and URL, but the article does not say how we can use this automatically.

Ideally we want to have a url that people click to download the file. Right now the GET url doesn’t download a file, it only shows a file path. What is the next step?

Or, is it possible to alter the download shortcode to give a download URL instead of a form?

Hi, What you are asking for requires custom development. A developer will be able to use the information presented in the following documentation:

Third (3rd) Party Integration Guide (HTTP GET Method)

Third (3rd) Party Integration Guide (HTTP POST Method)

Its just like reading API documentation of any software. If you are a developer yourself then it will make sense to you otherwise it won’t.

Ideally, you would create a custom addon/extension/tweak that will use the above mentioned API to stamp a file. Then use the stamped file’s URL to present it however you want to present it to your users (or use it in any other way you need).

You could use the following option if you wanted to get one our developers to look at your customization requirement:
