Hi There,
I am planning a pdf newsletter that will be emailed daily to monthly subscribers via mailchimp (or similar).
Ideally, for security, each copy of the newsletter will be stamped with some of that subscriber’s details.
I am aware this is not part of pdf stamper’s feature set, but there must be quite a few other people who would like similar functionality, so I wonder if it is part of your development plan?
If not, I’d appreciate any pointers you can give me on how to achieve this.
Many thanks,
F.

Option 1) If you are using WP eStore and the PDF Stamper plugin then do the following:
i) Create a WP Page and use eStore’s squeeze form with PDF Stamping shortocode on this page
ii) In the email broadcast share a link to this squeeze form page that you created in the above step.
iii) Now, your subscribers can come to this page and fill in the squeeze form to get the PDF file for free but it will have their info stamped in it.
Option 2) Use the manual stamping feature of the PDF stamper pluign to stamp the PDF file with some generic info in the file. So even though it doesn’t have any subscriber specific data, it still has some stamp to discourage sharing.
Option 3) If you are using eStore, eMember and PDF stamper then you can use the members only download now button which stamps the PDF file with the member’s details. Each of your subscriber will be a member of your site so in your email broadcast you will simply tell them to come to a page where they can log in and download a stamped copy of the PDF file.

Thanks for a quick and very helpful reply.
My aim is to make the pdf delivery as simple and hassle-free for the subscribers as possible, so I have one further question: is it possible to email the subscribers an individualised download link, so that they can bypass a formal login process and either:
a. download the individually stamped pdf without visiting the site at all, or
b. go straight to the download page where they can get the individually stamped pdf with a single click
I think the fewer keystrokes and hassle they have to go through, the better it will be.
If you have any more thoughts I’d be very glad to hear them.
Thanks for your help,
F.
March 21, 2013 at 12:19 pm #54578PeterMemberHi,
Your best options are 1 or 2 which have already been mentioned above.
is it possible to email the subscribers an individualised download link, so that they can bypass a formal login process and either
No I cannot think of any easy way to do this and still have their personal details stamped in the file. The plugins need a way to collect their details so they can stamp it which is why the “squeeze form” option is best in my opinion.
March 22, 2013 at 11:47 am #54579FCurrieParticipantHi There,
Thanks for the further info.
I bought eMember just so that could use Option 3 (above). After installing that, plus the extra short-codes and the members only plugin, I have the following experience:
– I can stamp the pdf manually.
– The pdf is stamped correctly if I purchase it and then download it – when not logged in – by pressing the ‘buy now’ button.
– The pdf is not stamped if I download it – when I am logged in – by using the ‘download’ button.
If you can advise how to get this last bit working, so that the logged-in members download is also stamped – then this solution is quite elegant and workable.
I tried Option 1 and it does work, but it is a poor daily user experience.
Thanks for your help.

Which shortcode are you using?
You should be using the following shortcode:
[wp_eStore_download_now_button_with_stamping id=1]
(where id is the applicable product id)

Thanks very much. I was using the wrong shortcode. That’s working perfectly now.
All the best,
F.
October 15, 2013 at 7:14 pm #54582msdtMemberHi,
I’m using eStore, eMember and PDF Stamper.
I followed all of the above, including the [wp_eStore_download_now_button_with_stamping id=1] code, yet the pdf is not stamped.
Everything else works just fine but stamping.
Any suggestion please?
Thank you in advance
October 15, 2013 at 10:13 pm #54583wpCommerceModerator@msdt, have you gone through this checklist:
October 16, 2013 at 7:22 pm #54584msdtMemberYes, I went through the checklist.
Manual stamp is working fine.
eStore is working fine.
eMember is working fine.
PDF Stamper is working fine.
eStore & PDF Stamper – OK
eMember & PDF Stamper – NOT OK.
The download button is working, but the pdf is not stamped.
When I am logged as a member and use the download button (this one: [wp_eStore_download_now_button_with_stamping id=1] ) the pop-up for download is there, the file is there, the stamp is NOT.
The details for the member are there (in eMember listing) so I don’t know where to look in order to make this work.
The PDF Stamper is working great with eStore.
My problem is with eMember and PDF Stamper.
Hopefully this make sense for you so you can help me out.
Thank you very much,
C
October 17, 2013 at 2:42 am #54585adminKeymasterThank you for the details. I will take a look at your site to check your setup. I have sent you an email.
October 18, 2013 at 2:43 am #54586adminKeymasterIt turns out that the following field wasn’t checked for your Product ID 1 (which is what you were using on that protected page):
Stamp the PDF File
If that option is not checked in a product then the plugin assumes that you don’t want to stamp that file.

Great products, and great support!
