PDF Stamper – An error occured while trying to stamp the PDF file!

Please bear with me. This is my first time trying to build a website on wordpress, and it is slow. I have searched for an hour and can not find my answer, so I’m hoping someone can help.

I am getting the following message when I try to manually stamp a pdf from my media: An error occurred while trying to stamp the file!

There was an exception when trying to stamp the file. Error Details: Unable to open “/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp_pdf_stamper/stamped-files/Adventure-Day_5b0e24a7cb625.pdf” for writing.

I’m not sure if this is helpful to know, but I am also using a temporary website name while mine transfers from wix.

My file is a pdf which was created through a music via export through a music writing program called Sibelius. I was doing the manual stamper to get test the formatting because I need it to stay off of the music. While I have adjusted my margins within Sibelius, I’m not so trusting. In my attempt to try it out, I set the price to zero, and purchased. The file was unable to download. This was the address it took me to: WooCommerce and PDF Stamper integration – An error occured while trying to stamp the PDF file! Error details: There was an exception when trying to stamp the file. Error Details: Cannot open /htdocs/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/2018/05/Adventure-Day.pdf

I appreciate any help or suggestions.

I am getting the following message when I try to manually stamp a pdf from my media: An error occurred while trying to stamp the file!

There was an exception when trying to stamp the file. Error Details: Unable to open “/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp_pdf_stamper/stamped-files/Adventure-Day_5b0e24a7cb625.pdf” for writing.

It means the permissions for the server directory (folder) /htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp_pdf_stamper/stamped-files/ are not allowing the plugin to write anything to it.

The folder permissions for the “stamped-files” directory should be 0755 (octal). The other reason for the error is if your (new) hosting provider has a security restriction in place; that is preventing the plugin from writing to that directory. The only way to determine this, is to call and ask.
