Tagged: Broken Download, Digital Product URL, page not found
Hi, first off this is a fantastic plugin and everything works perfectly apart from the download link. Our digital product is a pdf file but when you click on the encrypted download link instead of the file you get a page of hieroglyphics. I don’t know if this is just a firefox issue or what or whether I am supposed to zip the file but for whatever reason it is broken at the moment. Thanks in advance for your help.
Iain
BTW I should add that there is no problem with the file as it opens with no problem but does require a password to open.
A further update. I have tried this on two seperate machines with the same issue. It looks as if the link tries to open the pdf rather than save it and also if you right click the link and choose save as the file name is “download.php” so not sure if that is what should be expected. Thanks.
Mia culpa…I had the “If checked the digital content will be offered as an anonymous download (the customer won’t know where it is coming from). If Unchecked the buyer will be redirected to the above URL when they click on the encrypted link (useful for video on demand system)” box ticked. Unticked the box and everythings working fine
I am having a problem with the digital content links not working. We have fifty products and all of the links stopped working when we moved our website to another host.
The actual path is correct (Digital Product URL). The digital download path that is emailed does not work. The error message says:
Page Not Found
The page you are looking for is no longer here.
I have tried resaving all of the products.
I have copied and pasted the actual (Digital Product URL) product links and they all work (they are all valid).
Any ideas? Thank you.
Something obviously got messed up when you moved your hosting provider so lets try to identify it. Start with this one:
