My membership site is setup using Paypal for autorenwal subscriptions. I have imported all the subscribers into eMember successfully, but I have no means of updating their profiles with the info from Paypal regarding renewal dates etc., unless I set Expiry dates for each member individually. However, as I’m using the Paypal autorenewal facility, the system works by having No Expiry or Until Cancellation as the default setting. So what can I do to ensure that members are cancelled from the system when they Cancel their Paypal payments? ie how do I import the info regarding autorenewal dates from Paypal into eMember?
How did you setup the PayPal subscription in the first place? Are these old and ongoing subscriptions from a previous system you were using?
If these are subscriptions that were setup before eMember was installed; you might have to do something similar to the 2 cases described in this thread:
OK, thanks for the replies. The subscriptions are indeed old and ongoing subscriptions from a previous method of selling memberships. I will see if the referenced method for importing the Paypal subscriber ID’s individually will work. However, I don’t want the member to be cancelled if they cancel their subscription before their membership period time has fully elapsed (eg if they’ve paid for a month then cancel 5 days later, they should still have access for the remainder of the month). So it looks like I may have to setup manual expiry dates for each legacy subscriber anyway.
