I have “Use Paypal profile shipping” checked in the settings, which should make all products use the paypal shipping. This was working, but now no shipping charges are being applied in paypal. I contacted paypal – they said, “To enable your shipping calculations, you must click Use settings saved in your PayPal profile within each button you have created. The HTML code in your shopping cart buttons under “Shipping” overrides the shipping methods in your Profile.”
Can you please respond as soon as possible.

December 11, 2014 at 10:54 pm #67344adminKeymasterWhat settings did you change in your PayPal account or in the plugin settings when it stopped working?
December 12, 2014 at 12:05 am #67345fox_a_derekMemberWe have made no changes in either the plugin or Paypal. Shipping was being applied for a few weeks, and now it has just stopped.
December 12, 2014 at 12:08 am #67346fox_a_derekMemberIs there something you can inspect in the source on the checkout button that would indicate whether or not it was sending the parameter to Paypal telling it to use its shipping?
December 12, 2014 at 2:44 am #67347adminKeymasterI can see that it is including the 0 lb as the weight for one of the items. Check two things for me please:
1) Do you have the following option enabled in your PayPal account? If you do, you should turn it off since you don’t want it:
Allow Shipping Override in Your PayPal Profile
The following post has more explanation of what this feature of PayPal does:
2) Don’t specify any shipping or weight for any items in eStore products. Edit your product and empty the value in those fields.
December 12, 2014 at 4:46 pm #67348fox_a_derekMemberOk, I set “Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator’s settings:” to “No” and I think it’s working now. I don’t know how it was reset to “Yes” as I haven’t even opened those panels since the error started occurring…have you heard of those being reset by Paypal in some way?
December 12, 2014 at 10:52 pm #67349adminKeymasterThe settings in PayPal doesn’t usually get reset automatically but I can’t say for sure.
March 24, 2017 at 10:38 pm #67350barryochMemberI upgraded from free version to the Pro version so I could have a few extra features.
I have “Use PayPal profile …” selected in the cart settings and I have my tables setup in PayPal and they are set to “No” for: Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator’s settings: “NO”
Shipping and Tax calculations are still not being added in PayPal but they worked before. What am I missing? Should the product have a shipping charge of 0.001 to trigger the PayPal profile shipping?
March 24, 2017 at 11:39 pm #67351adminKeymasterFirst let me check and see what you have done. Please post a link to the page where you have the add to cart button so I can inspect it.
You are selling physical items with a shipping cost correct?
Did you setup amount based or weight based shipping table in your paypal profile? What is the first entry value of this table that you configured?
March 24, 2017 at 11:55 pm #67352barryochMemberThanks for the quick reply.
Here is a product page link.

Yes, physical items with shipping charge based on amount.
First entry value is 0.01
Thanks!
March 25, 2017 at 12:42 am #67353adminKeymasterThe shipping is getting applied correctly when I am sent to paypal and I log into my paypal account. I added the first item and clicked checkout. After I log into paypal, it applied a $15 shipping to it. So it is working fine as far as I can see.
Remember, paypal can’t apply the profile based shipping unless it knows the address. So it waits for the custom to log into paypal or enter the shipping details. Then it will apply the profile based shipping to the transaction. The customer will see it before the final pay now button.
Did you do a full checkout test or did you just see the first page that paypal shows which wasn’t showing the profile based shipping?
Side note: You should either enter a shipping amount to the eStore product OR uncheck the “Downloadable” field from the “Digital Content Details” section of the eStore product configuration. Doing that will flag it as a physical item in the eStore plugin.
March 25, 2017 at 11:05 pm #67354barryochMemberAhh… You’re correct. I wasn’t going past the first PayPal screen. I was logged in and it asked me how I wanted to pay and then a “Continue” button. After I hit Continue I saw the shipping and tax and then there was the “Pay Now” button.
Thanks for your help!
