PayPal Sandbox and Funds not cleared error

I am using the paypal sandbox with a sandbox buyer account that has $100 PP balance. The purchase completes, but when I click on the Return to Merchant page, which directs to my Thank You page with the shortcode for download links, I receive the following message on the page:

“The Fund have not been cleared yet. Product will be delivered when the fund clears!”

This is bad for two reasons: 1) the terrible grammar and 2) the whole point is to test my product download, which I can’t get to, because the “Fund have not been cleared.”

The debug log shows the following:

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – SUCCESS :Connection to http://www.sandbox.paypal.com successfuly completed.

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – SUCCESS :IPN successfully verified.

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – SUCCESS :Creating product Information to send.

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – FAILURE :Funds have not been cleared yet. Product(s) will be delivered when the funds clear!

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – FAILURE :IPN product validation failed.

[07/19/2010 5:28 PM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished.

Any idea what to do? Thanks!

Ah. I got it.

I needed a SELLER sandbox account as well as a buyer sandbox account. I was using a sandbox buyer and my real seller. Apparently that doesn’t work. Once I created the seller account, the ‘payment’ went through and I got the encrypted link on my return page, which also worked.

Just adding all this for the search function, in case anyone else has this problem.
