Hello,
We have begun receiving lots of complaints from our members recently about receiving an error with PayPal when attempting to renew their accounts.
We have been able to duplicate the issue, but we cannot find any pattern to what is causing it – sometimes the attempt to make a renewal purchase works fine, and other times PayPal displays the error.
Just to clarify, when the error occurs it does so on the first PayPal screen, right after having clicked on the ‘Buy Now’ eStore payment button.
The error that is displayed by PayPal is the following:
“This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient’s website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow.
Return to merchant
At this time we are unable to process your request. Please return to to and try another option.”

So many of our members are now unable to renew their accounts because of this problem.
Can you please help us to sort out this issue?
September 29, 2016 at 11:33 pm #74268wzpModeratorThis happens with a Buy Now button? Does it also happen, for first type (not logged in) users of that Buy Now button? Can you provide a link to a page with the Buy Now button?
Also, is this “the same site,” as the one in the other topic; you have open?

This past week, however, it has been reported that we have received a flurry of requests from members to pay via invoice as the PayPal option is not working for them.
This is happening for member renewals (who would all be logged-in). I cannot confirm whether it is also happening for new account purchases (which would be not logged-in), since most of our new accounts are given with a complimentary period.
This is fairly urgent for us as the problem seems to be occurring for many members who are attempting to renew their accounts.

November 1, 2016 at 11:50 pm #74271adminKeymasterThis issue you explained is usually an issue with the merchant’s paypal account (nothing to do with our plugin).
Please tell me the steps I should take on your site to reproduce the issue and then I will be able to confirm it.
November 2, 2016 at 2:15 am #74272clearscopedesignParticipantCould you please email me directly and I will share an account login for the member section via email?
Also, just to clarify – we are not able to duplicate the issue at will, so it is not guaranteed that you would see the problem when you test it (usually it works fine, but sometimes it does not and the error appears).
Please if you can send me a direct email I will share the access info there…

I have done some additional testing and was able to duplicate the issue multiple times in a row in Google Chrome. However, at the same interval, I was NOT able to duplicate the issue in Firefox or Safari.
November 3, 2016 at 12:19 am #74274adminKeymasterI have emailed you directly.
