Hello This is not really a problem, but I thought I should mention it since it means Paypal might have tweaked their API?
I figure that Paypal has a Shipping variable and a Handling variable, and maybe the eStore checkout total is getting passed to the Handling variable? During checkout, the total is displayed as “Shipping and Handling”, but in the invoice that Paypal emails to the customer, it lists the shipping charges above the total as “Handling”. Up until a few weeks ago, it was always listed as “Shipping”. It seemed like the switchover didn’t coincide with any changes to our website, which is why I think Paypal changed something. Did any other Paypal users experience this?
Further compounding the confusion is that Paypal’s invoice has a section called “Shipping Method” which says “Not specified.” I’ve had a few emails from customers who didn’t understand why the shipping method wasn’t specified when they paid extra for Express. I imagine it will say “Not specified” unless I use Paypal’s Profile Based Shipping, correct? If by some chance there is a variable that eStore could set to seed that Shipping Method field, that would be AWESOME I would pay a feature bounty for that, for sure
Thanks for your help! Any suggestions or clarifications are appreciated.

Using the handling cart variable was the workaround at the moment. If PayPal has fixed it up so there is now a variable that can be used to specify the total shipping amount of the cart then I will change it in eStore to use that. I will need to do some testing for this but PayPal sandbox is down for maintenance at the moment.
Regarding the shipping… yes, you are correct. PayPal only uses that if you are using the profile based shipping. As far as I know PayPal does not allow you to specify the shipping method if you are not using the profile based shipping. You can contact PayPal and if there is an API for it then I will look into it.
