When test purchase was made the PayPal based shipping and tax were not added to the cart nor was the customer charged for either. On check out they filled in their address which included the zip code. Customer did not set up a PayPal account. Could that be the problem? I checked my PayPal account and shipping settings and tax settings are correct. I called PayPal & they did a test and said that WP e-store did not send them the information needed to do those transactions or to tell PayPal to do them.
My WP e-store version: v7.19
My hosting company: Blue Host
Product page: [http://www.thefibertwister.com/neckwear/neckwarmers] — top item was used for the test. All are set to zero now but I can make 1 available if you need.
Within my WP e-store, on the PayPal Gateway Settings page the following items are checked and/or filled in.
* Use PayPal Payment Gateway
* PayPal e-mail address is filled in correctly
* Use PayPal Profile Based Shipping
I have not modified the plugin in anyway.
I’m very much not computer tech oriented.
If you need more info, I’ll be happy to provide it.
This is a first time asking for assistance & I pray I did this all correctly.
Thank you.

September 21, 2015 at 11:21 pm #71408adminKeymasterWhen you use profile based shipping, the shipping amount will get added after the customer goes to the PayPal checkout page and enters the zip code.
I can see that you have configured this product to have a weight of 0 lbs. If you are using weight based profile shipping then how will this 0 lbs trigger any shipping?
Do you want to use weight based shipping or amount based shipping? Did you intentionally put 0 lbs as the weight for that product? What is the reasoning for that?
September 22, 2015 at 12:26 am #71409fibertwisterMemberNo it’s not weight based shipping that I have set up via Paypal. It total dollar amount spent on purchase to figure shipping. So, it does not need the weight listed. I see I left out in my original request that is was total $ amount spent for shipping charges. I apologize for that error. It says you do not have to have a Paypal account to make a purchase and she declined the option to set one up during the checkout process.
Also, in the original request, I mentioned that the state was not added as well.
She entered her address which included the Zip Code, the receipts came from PayPal and when I issued the refund for the test, it was done via PayPay.

September 22, 2015 at 1:15 am #71410adminKeymasterokay in that case please edit the eStore product and remove the 0 from the item weight field. Keep that item weight field empty.
The profile based shipping will work for both checking out via PayPal or credit card. So don’t worry about that part.
Please tell me the amount range table that you have configured in your PayPal profile based shipping settings. I want to see what amount ranges you have specified so I can verify that the total price is falling in one of the ranges (otherwise it won’t trigger the shipping).
September 22, 2015 at 1:53 am #71411fibertwisterMemberOkay, I removed the 0 which was in the WP e-store settings.
Here is the shipping rates I set in PayPal & copied this directly from PayPal.
From(USD) To(USD) Rate(USD)
0.01 25.99 8.75
26.00 49.99 12.75
50.00 79.99 15.75
80.00 200.00 23.00
200.01 and up 28.00
State tax rate for my county in MO is 6.225% (a zip code to check out for taxes could be used: 64670) I copied the direct out of what I have set at PayPal.
Both my shipping settings and tax settings show as “active”.
Thank you so much for all your help.

September 22, 2015 at 2:09 am #71412fibertwisterMemberOops. Okay. This is where I removed the zero in settings but it came back:
Base Shipping Cost (Example: 5.00) Used for non digital Products. This amount is added to the total of the individual products shipping cost.
If I got to Manage Products, I click to edit that product, I got to the section called Shipping & Tax section, there is this, which has never had anything entered in its box and has always been blank:
Item Weight Enter the Weight of the item in lbs. This is only used if you are using PayPal profile based shipping.
So am not sure where the 0 for the weight should be removed.
I’m a tad confused on that issue, I guess.
Sorry to be so dense.

September 22, 2015 at 6:21 am #71413adminKeymasterEdit the individual product then remove any value from the following two fields:
Item Shipping Cost
Item Weight
You don’t need to specify any value there when using the amount based profile shipping.
September 22, 2015 at 12:11 pm #71414fibertwisterMemberThank you. There is nothing entered in either space.
So, I assume it’s ready for you to proceed now.
I will wait for your reply.
Thank you so much.

September 23, 2015 at 3:20 am #71415adminKeymasterThere is still a 0 there somewhere. I will need to check your setup inside the site. I have sent you an email for it.
