How do I keep the customer on my site and prevent the eStore plugin from redirecting the user to PayPal?

To process the Payment on your site you will need to use a payment processing solution that allows you to do this (e.g. PayPal Payments Pro). I haven’t added “PayPal Payments Pro” to eStore yet but I plan to add it in the future.

Why haven’t I added this option already even though it sounds so good? Well there is a catch that you may not be aware of when trying to process payments on your site. You need to have an SSL Certificate installed on your server to accept credit cards details on your server. Now, An SSL Certificate from VeriSign (an industry standard) will cost you about $500 per year (roughly). The prices do vary a little bit depending on where you actually buy it from but the point is… how many people do you think can afford/will want to run an SSL installed server when their hosting is a $5 per month plan? The answer is not many :)

With that said, there are a lot of customers for example (myself) will not enter their credit card details on a not so well knows website (due to security concerns of course). But when I get redirected to PayPal, I am happy to enter my credit card details and buy from that site as I know my card details will not get misplaced/misused.

So, yeah it has it’s advantages and disadvantages but when you are starting out it’s alright to go with the basic one and then slowly work your way up.
