When I set up the shopping cart I used my own company’s Paypal account. After testing I switched to my customers Paypal account. It has been working flawlessly until yesterday when a payment went to my Paypal account instead of my customer Paypals account. Since that time five (5) payment went to the correct Paypal account: Customers. Then the sixth (6th) payment went to my Paypal account. I have not mad any configuration changes.
August 18, 2018 at 4:21 am #78353adminKeymasterThe payment goes to the account that you set in the configuration. Do you have a cached page that has the paypal button with the old PayPal email address?
Do you know which product and which page that sale is coming from?
August 19, 2018 at 3:28 pm #78354DanBoutellMemberI don’t quite understand how it could be a cached page in that customers are accessing the shopping cart from all over the internet.
I do know which product and page that it happened from and I have tried to replicate it with just one of the products. One instance was with a single product, the other instance was with five products.
In the instance where there was just one product involved the customer using the shopping cart reported that he had noticed it strange that shipping was not added. (Sorry that I didn’t include that additional information in my original post.) The box IS checked to use Paypal shipping charges.
Then strange thing is that this cart has been working without incident since about the first of April.
Will you need access to the database?
August 20, 2018 at 4:26 am #78355adminKeymasterSo last time you had this was back in April? Thats when you were settings things up. If you didn’t have any issue after that, I am not sure what needs to be looked at now?
What you explained is a little bit strange. It is very specific to your site/setup. We can only do something if we can reproduce the issue on your site so we can see what is causing this behavior on your site. If the issue doesn’t exist now, we have no way of seeing what configuration mistake exists on the site.
August 20, 2018 at 2:37 pm #78356DanBoutellMemberNo, I said that it has been working since April with no issues. It is just in the last few days that this problem occurred.
If you would like to test it, the site address is beachslock.com The item that failed is on Fire Alarm Keys, Product F29. If you need to have access to anything, I will give you what you need.
August 21, 2018 at 3:48 am #78357adminKeymasterYour setup looks fine to me. Did you specify a product specific PayPal email address? We also have a feature where you can specify a different paypal email address in your estore product. This allows users to configure different products with different paypal email address.
So edit your estore products and check the “Buy Now, Subscription or Donation Type Button Specific Settings” section. Check to see if you have any value in the “PayPal Email” field there.
August 21, 2018 at 1:22 pm #78358DanBoutellMemberNo, that field is empty.
August 22, 2018 at 3:46 am #78359adminKeymasterIs there any info you can give me that will help me reproduce the issue on your site?
August 22, 2018 at 5:09 pm #78360DanBoutellMemberThe first instance was six different items on Aug 16. 1 – E25; 1 – F10; 1 – F13; 2 – F21; 3 – F4; 2 – F9.
The second instance was on item on Aug. 17. 2 – F29.
I don’t know what else I can tell you.
August 24, 2018 at 5:33 am #78361adminKeymasterAre all the payments going to one particular PayPal account (or different ones)?
August 27, 2018 at 7:07 pm #78362DanBoutellMemberI only have one PayPal account in the PayPal Gateway tab.
I just got another payment in MY (not my customers) Paypal account that should have went to my customers Paypal account. Strange thing is that it is from the exact same person who earlier had a payment go to the wrong Paypal account.
August 28, 2018 at 4:38 am #78363adminKeymasterIs this a subscription payment by any chance? Because subscription payments are setup at the time of the checkout. PayPal doesn’t let you change the email address of an existing subscription payment. If you want the subsequent payments of an existing subscription to go to a different email, then the subscription needs to be cancelled and the user will need to re-subscribe (with the new details).
August 28, 2018 at 6:53 pm #78364DanBoutellMemberNo. There are no subscriptions involved. The website customers are just there to purchase keys and key sets.
August 29, 2018 at 4:06 am #78365adminKeymasterCan you please show the URL of the page where you have the payment button so I can inspect it? Which paypal email is the payment suppose to go and which one is it going to?
August 29, 2018 at 4:25 pm #78366DanBoutellMemberThe Check Out pages is beachslock.com/?page_id=602
The correct paypal email address is [sales@beachslock.com]
The incorrect address is [dan@veteranswebdesign.com]
