Hi,
When someone sends me money via Paypal (e.g. a donation), IPN notifies eStore and I get an email telling me that it couldn’t find the product. Which makes sense because there is no product that relates to the transaction. Is there any way to prevent these emails from going out while preserving emails for other types of errors? I’ve included the error code below.
Thanks!
===== Exact Reason for This Failure =====
The transaction failed for the following reason…
Request received for product ID: . Could not find this Product ID in the product database (please check the manage products menu and verify that you have specified the correct product ID).
Hi, which option are you using to accept donations?
1) Donation button via eStore or
2) Money transfer
I’m not entirely sure where they’re coming from, but definitely not from eStore. Some of them may even be direct from Paypal (meaning: someone goes into their Paypal account, chooses “Send Money”, and sends it to the email address of our account).
@ejames — Does the payment/donation actually “go through” and end up in your account? If so, try reaching out to the donor and ask how they submitted the payment. Knowing where the money came from would help.
Thanks! I’ll get back to you with that information. Is it possible to set the notify_url parameter in the form generated by eStore, so that Paypal’s IPNs are only sent to eStore after a transaction initiated by eStore?
@ejames, That’s how it already works in the plugin (you don’t need to do anything).
Oh, thanks. So what I probably need to do is take the URL out of the IPN settings on Paypal?
If you want to; because eStore will just override whatever value is there. But for PayPal’s sake, just point it back to your home page.
