Does PDF Stamper support either of the following?
- Encrypted source PDFs – for several products, I was hoping to use the same PDF I’m already selling through another channel. These PDFs have an owner password, with certain options (e.g., changing the file) already turned on. Is there a way to provide this password to PDF Stamper so it can change (i.e., stamp) the file and then reencrypt? I realize I can post an unencrypted version in a different path and am happy to do that but thought I’d ask, especially in combination with #2:
- Password-protected source PDF location – I have already told search engines not to crawl the folder hierarchy where downloadable products live (/downloads/* on my site), but don’t love the idea of leaving unencrypted copies of the products on open URLs, even if WP eStore never provides that location to my customers. Since PDF stamper provides the downloads from a separate location (presumably where the stamped files are stored long-term), is there support to have it fetch the unencrypted (pre-stamp) files from a password-protected URL (e.g., directives in .htaccess)?
Running PDF Stamper v4.31 and WP eStore v7.00 on WordPress 3.7.1. I am doing my testing using the Manual Stamping option, so there’s no public page that can replicate this at this point.
thanks!

November 5, 2013 at 10:10 pm #58721adminKeymasterHi, The source PDF file can’t be encrypted otherwise the stamper can’t open it and perform the stamping. Keep the source PDF un-encrypted but then use the encryption feature in the stamper so it will stamp then encrypt then give that stamped and encrypted copy to the customer.
Yes, PDF stamper can work with password protected directory (via .htaccess directives).

I am trying to manually generate a stamped pdf with password protection as defined on General PDF Stamper Settings on WP PDF Stamper v4.6.2 integrated with WP eStore.
Stamping and delivery is working perfect for customers via WP eStore with Use Email as Password checked in File Security Settings, for an Enabled PDF File Encryption (Allow Print, Allow Copy) product.
The problema is here.
I try to manually generate a password protected pdf, having previously changed settings to uncheck Use Email as Password, and manually defined a File Password.
Then, clicking the thus manually generated product link, it opens in browser, asks for the password, but upon password insertion, browser reads: File Cannot Be Opened.
File PATH Conversion Method and PDF Stamping Method set as default. In all cases.
So, how do I do to manually generate an encrypted password protected stamped pdf?
Looking forwards to your reply. Thank you so much. I love your products!

Are you manually generating the password protected PDF file, from the PDF Stamper Admin menu or from the eStore Admin menu? Does manual stamping (with password) from the PDF Stamper menu work correctly?
