Hi,
can I password protect wordpress pages in wordpress, but have those pages for people who sign up as members with their own password?
I have a 12 separate magazine page membership site with page one as a separate product I sell (password protected in wordpress).
pages 2-6 as a separate product (password protected in wordpress, but also in WP Emember as part of the monthly membership paes 2-12).
pages 2-12 as a separate product as a delivered monthly magazine membership (protected by WP Emember).
I password protected page 1 in wordpress which works fine, but the other pages I password protected come up as requiring membership sign in, so the membership login is overriding the wordpress password; i’m thinking I cannot have both a wordpress page password and a WP Emember login that allows non members to sign in to individual pages?
Thanks for any help.
Paul
June 22, 2018 at 12:47 am #78033adminKeymasterWordPress page password has nothing to do with membership protection. The page passwords are ok for some simple use cases. A membership plugin is needed for when you want to create a membership type site (page password feature can’t help you with that).
If you are going to be creating a membership site then get rid of the passwords and use our plugin to protect the page. The membership level concept allows you to create different types of access levels for different category of members.

November 7, 2019 at 6:02 pm #78034goaliedude10122SpectatorCan we give “different membership levels” to customers when they purchase a one-off product vs a recurring subscription?
I have both Estore and Emember products. I would like for my Estore products to be delivered now via the membership levels as distinct products within the larger membership (recurring subscription).
TO clarify: My “All-Access” course is delivered at a monthly recurring subscription through emember, where members can access the private area of my website. My Estore products are each delivered as zip files. Instead I would like for the estore products to live within the membership area of my site so that if customers buy an estore product they can login .
Can I do this, and if so, would it be through emember or estore?
A big reason for my question is that I would rather give people access to view multiple videos in a course as embedded on a private page, rather than sending a zip file of multiple downloads.
Also I’d like for when they buy one product to go to that product in a place where they can see the other products.
thanks for your help
November 8, 2019 at 2:23 am #78035adminKeymasterYeah you should be able to do that. Just make different products in WP eStore that hook to different membership levels of emember. You can make as many membership levels as you want and hook it to any estore product you want. For example: the one off payment product can be hooked to membership level ID 3. Then the subscription product (which is another estore product you create) can be hooked to membership level ID 4. If a customer is buying both these items, they will have both those levels in their profile.
