I have this error now on two of my ecommerce sites, lotteryintuition.com and themisdesigns.com. The error is identical in both except for the domain name.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘text’ (T_STRING), expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /home1/themis/public_html/themisdesigns.com/wp-content/plugins/eStore-extra-shortcodes/shortcode_include2.php on line 539
I know how to get into FTP, but I don’t know exactly what this php file is named nor do I know how to correct it. Please help me fix this, I am losing sales because it’s Christmas. This just started this morning. I can’t even get into wp-admin.
Thank you.
December 16, 2014 at 4:38 pm #67466wzpModeratorPlease download and install a fresh copy of the extra shortcodes addon:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/download-addons.php
If you are using FTP to install the addon, please remember to make sure FTP is in the binary transfer mode.
December 16, 2014 at 5:45 pm #67467CelesteMemberThank you for the quick response! I checked “Binary” as the option for Transfer type. Files have been transferred.
I can now get into wp-admin, which is a relief. Unfortunately, despite that my site now opens for viewing, I get another message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘text’ (T_STRING) in /home1/themis/public_html/themisdesigns.com/wp-content/themes/Avada/framework/plugins/LayerSlider/helpers/phpQuery.php on line 522
This is on the Home Page only for themisdesigns.com. All other pages can be viewed without trouble. Avada is a very popular theme, as is the Layer Slider by Kreatura. Can you help me with this additional error, please? I’m going to apply the same update to Lottery Intuition.
I know from prior experience if I contact Avada they will not help with any problems they consider to be associated with third party plugins.
Thank you.
December 16, 2014 at 5:50 pm #67468CelesteMemberI just applied the update to lotteryintuition.com and all pages with a slider get the same error. They all have a layer slider. The ironic thing is that I switched to Layer Slider because the Revolution Slider was prone to hacking.
Can you help with this?
Thanks,
Celeste
December 16, 2014 at 5:55 pm #67469CelesteMemberOne more bit of info re my sites, I have edited all pages to not display the Layer Slider. Now they all appear when accessed by the browser. However, the sliders with their images are important to the site and if there’s a way to get them back without problems, that would be great!
December 16, 2014 at 11:47 pm #67470adminKeymasterYour FTP transfer is not working correctly. So delete the currently installed copy of the extra shortcodes addon. Then download a new copy and upload it via the WordPress’s plugin uploader interface. Are you familiar with the plugin uploader interface in the plugins menu of your admin dashboard?
December 17, 2014 at 3:06 am #67471CelesteMemberThank you, yes. I am familiar with uploading via the interface and prefer it to FTP. I will try again with the new instructions, and follow up with results.
I’m making a thorough update of everything for my sites, including themes, all plugins, and the latest WordPress version. Backups done prior, of course.
December 17, 2014 at 6:53 am #67472CelesteMemberEverything appears to be working properly now with the Lottery Intuition site, including the extra shortcodes. Sometime in the next couple days I’ll find out whether the Themis Designs site has its shopping cart working as it should.
Thanks so much for the tip to upload from the admin page
