Hi there
I have migrated from Wishlist where this did work perfectly to eMember.
I have simplepress setup as the default /forum page
I have eMember Content Protection on this page for all levels
Why is the forum page content still visible to outside users.
Regards

So the body of the “Forum” page is indeed protected. You can do a simple test to verify this. Edit the “Forum” page and add any text or image in the page then try to view it and you will see that it’s protected.
The simple press forum is outside the main page content (kind of like where the related posts usually gets shown) which is why it’s not getting protected. So if there was a shortcode that you could place inside the “Forum” page to display the simple press forum it would do what you are after.
With that said, the above should not restrict you from achieving the functionality that you are after though.
All you care about is that only logged in members can view the content right? If that is the case then all you need to do is use the “WordPress User Integration” option of eMember. Now, given that you have WordPress user integration for simple press active too, it should work in the following manner.
When a visitor lands on your site he/she can only view the forum content if they log in to your WordPress system via “eMember” or “Simple Press”. You only need to maintain one login system.
Let me know if this helps.
I could potentially look into the WordPress hook simple press is using to append the forum at the end of the page content and apply protection too so when you go to that page the only thing you see is the “Please login” message.

I really like the lightweight feel of eMember but I have spent quite a lot of time trying to get this to work and figuring out what was going on . You have outlined that the SimplePress (btw I use HeadwayThemes) is outside the protected content area. Looks like this is also true of adding additional ‘Leafs’ in headway speak too.
Whereas WishList will just block off the whole page and redirect to a Page of my choice. If there is something that can be done without me doing WishList setup again ( I am pretty fast at that ) but it is just a pain in the neck as I have to redo some more testing and possibly delay my site launch:)
I did use the wordpress integration to log new sign up folks into WordPress and eMember but just need that Forum page blocked off from Guests and non members.
Cheers and Thanks in advance.

September 17, 2010 at 8:28 am #24311amin007ParticipantWe were able to add a quick functionality enhancement for this. I sent you an update via email. Let me know how it goes.
September 17, 2010 at 9:08 am #24312KevinMemberAwesome and I can confirm this works in the new build you have sent V5.6.9
