Tagged: redirect to custom page
After logging in to my site, I currently have the redirect after set to a page of the most commonly-used links within the site. Been working fine for years,
However, I have added links to outside resources in a new page that is not protected (using for link bait),
The page does double-duty, first containing good links available to all, and also there is a [member_protected] section containing more useful content.
What I want is when someone come to the page and seeks access to the protected goodies, they simply log in, and the page reloads with the goodies now available. If they’re not a member, they’re sent to the offer page (from there I can send them pack to the goodies page with shiny new permissions),
Is there a way to override the default redirect setting ti accomplish this?
Thanks!
gary
You can use the membership level specific redirect page to override the global after login redirect. Edit the membership level in question and specify an after login redirect page URL there.
Thanks for the reply, although this method won’t quite work for what I want to do.
If you are using the inline login widget option (it is enabled by default), then there is an option to disable the login redirect when someone logs in via the inline login widget.
The inline login widget is shown to users when they land on a protected post or page and click on the login link inside the content protected message. They log into the site right there and stay on that page.
