Has anyone figured out a modification to add order numbers to the orders?

Every order has a unique transaction number attached to it already. Look under the Transaction ID field in the manage customers menu.

How can we get that number to be included in the email customer’s get when their order is placed? Is there a tag we can add?

Yeah there is a tag for that:

{transaction_id}

I would like to add a message on the Thank You page that will include the Transaction_ID from PayPal. I know that this appears in the Buyer’s Email (if I add the email tag), but I want it also on my return Thank You page so I can create a unique page for the Buyer to printout the order details there.

Is there a shortcode for that.
