Hi everyone. I am just starting to use gallery and have some questions:
Business – I sell photos that I take on a daily basis. Each day is a new “batch” of photo’s.
What I want to do is have a gallery or sub-gallery based on the date I took the pictures.
I send people to the gallery and tell them to look for the date they were here, they find their pictures and buy them.
The challenge is I do this every day, and in one year would create 365 galleries! Can I even do that?
Is there a way to have a gallery and sub galleries, or albums in the gallery sorted by the date they were taken?
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Bob
Hi Bob,
Solution 1:
You could create an album for each year.
Inside each album you could create a gallery for each day and name the gallery as a date string, eg, May-1-2018.
This will yield a large listing of galleries so it might be a bit too bulky for viewing.
Solution 2:
Alternatively, you could further sort the albums by months which might make your gallery groupings more neater and more ordered.
For example, you create an album for each month and name the album such that people know the year as well as the month – eg, May2018
Inside the album called “May2018” you will have 31 galleries and you could name each as May-1-2018, May-2-2018, …… etc
This solution makes it a bit easier to view the galleries because the albums are smaller.
Peter,
Thanks you! So an album is a higher level than a gallery? I will go back and revisit setting up an album and then galleries below it, as that makes more sense. Thanks for the feedback!
