eStore plugin activated, products installed, settings saved, but only shortcodes show on page, no store, cart, etc.
April 14, 2012 at 1:59 am #44086adminKeymasterPlease check the following three things:
1. Make sure there is no typo in the shortcode (I already checked your page and you are using the correct code so you can skip this step).
2. Edit that page and view it in the HTML view of the editor and make sure there is no hidden HTML tags (example, <p>)getting added around the shortcode. If they are getting added, remove it and then save the page.
3. Check for conflicts… if you have a plugin that is breaking WordPress’s shortcode functionality then the shortcodes won’t work:

April 14, 2012 at 2:13 pm #44087moonlinerMemberHi, thanks for the help. As you observed, the codes are correct. I only edit in html, there are no hidden characters. I have very few plugins and I’ve deactivated them all. I can’t see anything different than my other installs of eStore. Even the host, WP versions, and themes are identical.
I have also tried deactivating eStore and reinstalling. Haven’t completely deleted the folder though as I don’t want to lost the 50 products I installed.
This is for digital download products. Can there be any settings regarding that getting in the way?
April 14, 2012 at 2:21 pm #44088moonlinerMemberAlso tried changing themes to WP twnety ten, twenty eleven. Same issue.
April 15, 2012 at 12:52 am #44089PeterMemberHi,
Please do another fresh install of the latest eStore version and this time please DELETE the folder as instructed in the link below.
NOTE: you will not lose your products or any other estore configuration by deleting the plugin folder

April 15, 2012 at 1:42 pm #44090moonlinerMemberWell that didn’t work either. I both manually deleted the folder/manually reinstalled the new update and tried WordPress’s delete/upload-install process. Then I deactivated all other plugins and tried the fresh installs again.
Could there be a WordPress config file interfering?
Again I have installed the eStore on my other sites using the same uploader and methods and this site is on the same host and uses the same theme as my other sites.
I’m fine with creating a user for you to log in to this WP account if you want to look around. If you want to do that pls give me an email address to send login to.

April 16, 2012 at 6:15 am #44092adminKeymasterThank you . It is very weird… I created a test page and used those exact shortcodes on this page and then when I preview this page I can see everything working fine.
You can test it by going to the following URL (you will need to be logged into the site):
http://rudycolombini.com/?page_id=178&preview=true
However, as soon as I publish this page, it doesn’t work anymore. If I see the status to draft again, it works! What do you think could be affecting the published pages on this site (there has to be something installed or configured in this site that is causing this weird behavior)?
April 16, 2012 at 8:22 pm #44093moonlinerMemberI believe I have determined the problem. There is a database crossup between the WP install and a previous install to another directory that was using a temporary sub-domain redirect. I must reload WP from scratch. Is there a way I can backup and reinstall all of the eStore products?
April 17, 2012 at 12:04 am #44094adminKeymasterYes, you should be able to backup the database table content and then import it later. This video will help:
April 17, 2012 at 12:07 am #44095Sarah JenksMemberI’m having the same issue. I’ve checked the three things you indicated above. I’ve also fully uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. Still not working – http://sarahjenks.com/576
What do I need to do to remedy this?
April 17, 2012 at 12:20 am #44096PeterMemberHi,
As a first step please deactivate and delete your current eStore installation and install a fresh copy by following these instructions:
Also, can you please try using the following shortcode instead of the one you are using?
[wp_eStore_buy_now_button id=1]
April 17, 2012 at 9:27 pm #44097Sarah JenksMemberSwitching the code to this – [wp_eStore_buy_now_button id=1] – made no difference. Working to uninstall/reinstall (again). Will let you know if it works. Thanks!
April 17, 2012 at 11:34 pm #44098Sarah JenksMemberUninstalled/reinstalled following the directions here – https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Did not work. Here’s a link to the page – [http://sarahjenks.com/576]
Please assist.
