How do I set up one membership level (Gold) with eStore so that the billing is recurring, but also with 3 options for payment and duration – 1 month, 3 months and 12 months?
Each of those options have different pricing (paying for 3 and 12 months would provide savings, compared to paying monthly).
Will I need 3 different membership levels? Or is it something I configure in eStore somehow only? Hoping for a simple answer!
February 5, 2013 at 10:14 pm #53619PeterMemberIf you want 3 separate payment plans you will need to create 3 separate eStore products.
Also, since it appears that each payment plan has different membership duration you will also need to create 3 separate membership levels and reference each membership level in its respective eStore product.
February 7, 2013 at 3:36 pm #53620mgaMemberThanks Peter. However, the way I envision this is that the membership levels should never expire, but if payment is not received when the next payment comes around, their account will be made inactive.
Is this possible?
All I am looking for is a way to allow members to save money by purchasing for 3 or 12 months ahead, but everyone will be on the same membership level – one that only expires once payment is due. If payment is received in time, the account is renewed for 3 or 12 months.
Thank you!
February 7, 2013 at 11:28 pm #53621mgaMemberSo should I make a 1 month eStore product, set it to recurring billing every 1 month, link it to the “1 month membership level”, and then do the same for a 3 month and 12 month options?
Do I set the membership level to expire after 1 month, 3 months, 12 months for each level, or should each level be set to “No Expiry or Until Cancelled”?
I am not quite understanding how to set it up so the customer’s account becomes inactive/expired if payment is not received before the membership timeframe is up (1, 3 and 12 months in my example).
February 8, 2013 at 12:19 am #53622adminKeymasterYes, create 3 membership levels like the following:
– 1 Month Recurring
– 3 Months Recurring
– 12 Months recurring
Then apply the same content protection to all of these membership levels (this way all your members get the same access to content). Set the duration to “No Expiry or Until Cancelled”.
Create 3 eStore subscription products and hook/connect it to the appropriate membership level.
All done. If any of your members cancel the subscription or doesn’t pay, the corresponding member account will get blocked automatically when the term expires. The members that continue to pay, their accounts will stay active.
Let me know if that explanation helps.
