Yeah, I know this sounds insane. I needed to add a text box so customers could send me a message. I bought the comment plugin, installed it, and suddenly the listing on the menu (left side of WP) for WP Simple Cart disappeared. I clicked on the settings for the actual plugin “Simple Cart Customer Input”, it said I wasn’t allowed to access the page (!).
I updated WP to 5.8 (it was 5.7 something), no difference.
I deactivated the plugin. Simple Cart has still disappeared.
I logged out and back in, still gone.

    WTH?

Worst of all – THE BLOODY CART ISN’T WORKING!!! I’M LOSING SALES! Now the code appears instead of the order button!!!

Please respond ASAP. I’m using a customized theme, but since the Simple Cart worked up unitl this very moment, why has everything gone haywire?

Hi, Nothing has changed in our simple cart plugin recently. So I am not sure what this is. What comment plugin are you talking about?

Have you done the following test?

Test to (How to) Identify a Conflicting Theme or Plugin

Ok, I’ve figured it out. When I installed the “collect customer input”, it somehow deactivated the actual simple cart shopping plugin. That’s why it disappeared. I’m thinking it then couldn’t find the cart plugin, and gave me the “can’t access” message. I was going to delete everything and reinstall, which is how I noticed the cart was deactivated.

The really odd thing is, once I re-activated the “collect customer input” (after having reactivated the cart), the plugin listing for the simple cart disappeared!

When both plugins were deactivated, they were both listed (as deactivated). When I reactivated simple cart, both were listed. But once I reactivated “customer input”, simple cart vanished. However, unlike last time, it does show up in the left hand column. Again, it probably vanished last time because it somehow got deactivated. Very weird, but I’m happy it works!

Thank you for your quick response.
