The last few days i have noticed that not all sales are showing in the “Manage Customers” page. Only now and then sales are showing and i have to manually add the customers to the system. I’m using the latest version (6.8.0). I dont have any cache plugins installed. I’m receiving a notification from Paypal from every sale so i’m not missing anything but it’s time consuming to add the customers manually all the time.
My website: [http://realtrafficsource.com]
Any thoughts?
July 7, 2012 at 12:38 am #47012adminKeymasterEnable debug and provide debug log which will tell us what is going on in the system when it doesn’t update the customers:

July 8, 2012 at 4:24 pm #47013webar2007SpectatorDebug enabled and there seem to be a few issues. Do you want me to post this here or do you have a email address where i can send you the file(s)?
July 9, 2012 at 3:12 am #47014adminKeymasterYeah you can post the debug here (we will delete it later if you want). Alternatively, you can use the contact form of our site and send us the debug.
July 9, 2012 at 10:22 am #47015webar2007SpectatorDebug’s sent pr email.
July 9, 2012 at 11:37 pm #47016adminKeymasterThank you. The only failures that I see are for PayPal PDT… it is giving a “pending payment” notification. Now, that only affects the “Thank You” page display. It has nothing to do with the standard post payment processing stuff. So will look at that later.
Your main issue is the following and according to debug everything worked so the customers menu page should get updated
Not all sales are showing in the "Manage Customers" page
Here is my question to you:
I see in the debug that the last 3 sales are for the following 3 products. Did these product sales get to the manage customers menu?
2000 FaceBook Likes
1900 USA FaceBook Likes
100.000 Targeted Website VisitorsIf they did then is there any particular sale that didn’t go to the customers menu?
July 10, 2012 at 10:39 am #47017webar2007SpectatorUnfotunately i cant remember if the 3 products you hust mentioned went to the Manage Customers or not. We have a lot of sales so its not easy to keep track.
Today we had one order for “1900 USA FaceBook Likes” and that did NOT go to the Manage Customers (i’m still debugging).
I’m also pretty sure that a few regular traffic orders, specially from this page: [http://realtrafficsource.com/targeted-website-visitors/] has not gone to the Manage Customers.
July 10, 2012 at 12:17 pm #47018webar2007SpectatorJust got another error (not in Manage Customers):
From the ipn handle:
[07/10/2012 11:55 AM] – SUCCESS :Paypal Class Initiated by xxxxxx
[07/10/2012 11:55 AM] – SUCCESS :Post string : redacted]
[07/10/2012 11:55 AM] – FAILURE :Connection to http://www.paypal.com failed. fsockopen error no. :
[07/10/2012 11:55 AM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished.
The payment was from this page: [http://realtrafficsource.com/other-web-traffic/] (geo targeted visitors).
When i log in to Paypal, the payment looks just fine.
July 11, 2012 at 12:19 am #47019adminKeymasterThank you for sharing the details. I can see what is going wrong now. Basically, what is happening is that every now and then your server is having a hiccup and its causing eStore to fail to connect to paypal.com to verify the payment details (eStore does this to protect you from scammers):
[07/10/2012 11:55 AM] - FAILURE :Connection to http://www.paypal.com failed. fsockopen
This is always an issue on hosting providers side. Who is your hosting provider and what package are you using?
July 11, 2012 at 7:27 am #47020webar2007SpectatorI use kvchosting.com and i have a dedicated server. I have access to whm/cpanel. Is there a way i can check these hiccups?
July 11, 2012 at 11:27 pm #47021adminKeymasterYour hosting provider is the only one who can help you with that because this is on the server side. You can ask them something like the following:
Every now and then a script fails to connect to paypal.com using “fsockopen” for IPN verification. Why is that?
Some common factors that affect are: Firewall, PHP version, Server running out of resources.
July 12, 2012 at 6:57 am #47022webar2007SpectatorThanks, i have contacted them.
When i look a the debug logs, i see this error message over and over again:
“[07/11/2012 6:40 PM] – FAILURE :Connection to http://www.paypal.com failed. fsockopen error no. : ” And this is as you mentioned the server hiccup. Is something missing from this error message? It seems like a number or a code should come after the “:”.
July 13, 2012 at 12:02 am #47023adminKeymasterThe code that connects to PayPal for IPN validation is failing as we have already seen. Now, when it fails it is suppose to have the error details but those are also missing. This is why I said that there is some sort of hiccup going on. Otherwise when it fails it should have the details as to what happened. Also, it doesn’t fail constantly for every sale. It fails intermittently which tells me that the server has the capability to do this but sometimes it denies the request for whatever reason. I have sent you an email to get access to see if I can get more details for you.
July 13, 2012 at 6:23 am #47024webar2007SpectatorMy host has now recompiled apache and php and for the last 24 hours or so everything looks very fine. Will fill in your form.
