I’m trying to use eStore & eMember to sell a variety of memberships that allow access to different download pages on my site. I have enabled secondary memberships. I’m only protecting sections of pages so my download buttons are invisible unless the appropriate membership is activated. I’m using scenario 3.1 from the member registration flow tutorial so customers have to be logged in before checking out.
I’m having 2 problems:
When I do a test transaction, the newly purchased membership is not added to the member/buyer’s profile (only the free membership that’s required for checking out is checked). Because of this, the download buttons don’t appear for that member. The transaction goes through but that’s all. When I manually update the member’s profile with the new membership, everything works on the page so it doesn’t appear to be a short code error. How do I have memberships automatically added to the profile as soon as they’re purchased?
The other problem is that the eStore receipts and admin notifications aren’t being sent. Only the standard Paypal notifications go out. I can’t figure out what’s wrong.
I hope you can help.
FYI: I’m using the latest version of WP and the plugins (updated within the last month).
January 29, 2015 at 10:22 pm #68335adminKeymasterIt seems like the plugin is not even receiving any payment notification from PayPal. Please do the following:

If you find that the log file is empty, then go through the following checklist:

That will help you fix the issue on your end and then the plugin will start working automatically.
January 30, 2015 at 7:16 am #68336veramiloSpectatorApparently IPN was turned off. I do remember turning it on so I don’t know how that happened.
I also didn’t have post payment processing turned on so that answered why I wasn’t getting receipts. I thought all I had to do was check the box for “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” on the Email Settings tab.
So relieved it was a simple solution. Thank you for your help!
