Hi,
I don’t know what I”ve done wrong, but I have manually added in a couple of new free members, but can’t log them in. I’m going to another browers where I am not logged in as an admin, and just trying to login a member, but I get the same error message every time:
You have been logged out because another user has logged into this account from another browser.
What am I doing wrong?
Site is here: [eleinar1.sg-host.com]
February 17, 2022 at 10:07 am #84209Es Web DesignParticipantTo be clear, this is the error message I am getting:
“You have been logged out because another user has logged into this account from another browser.”
This is a new WPeMember site I am just setting up, thus the member testing, and that is why it is located in a Staging Area. HAve to make sure it’s working before I move it to the live domain. I think I’ve got everything else worked out, except this part.
Thank you,

February 17, 2022 at 11:31 pm #84212adminKeymasterYou may have enabled the “Disable Simultaneous Member Login” option. That option can also cause this type of issue on some server configuration (where the IP address is not being passed correctly to the plugin). Try disabling that option.
February 18, 2022 at 6:55 am #84213Es Web DesignParticipantHi there,
Thank you for both responses.
1. I did not enable Login Restriction by I Address
2. I did not check “Disable Simultaneous Member Login” – the only thing checked there is “Keep only most recent login active”Here is a screenshot of what it looks like: https://nimb.ws/vzRPx8
February 18, 2022 at 10:53 am #84214Es Web DesignParticipantOkay, still trying to make this site work. I have removed all admins, programmed them to automatically become users, thta worked. But, when I try to add a new “member” in another browser, here is what happens:
1. I Register – and it works, I immediately go into the backend as pending;
2. My Owner makes me active;
3. I then try to login in again and after typing in my username and password and clicking the login button, I get a green message from wpEmember that says “Logged out successfully.”4. But, if I go to my email, open in another browser, and open the registration confirmation email, and click on the login link there, it works. But, a new member is never going to go open another browser to login after registering, so that won’t work.
I believe this is related to the first email I sent you and I’m still trying to get this site working the right way, so thought I’d share what is happening.
February 18, 2022 at 4:25 pm #84216wzpModeratorLet’s try something new… instead of opening a new browser on the same computer, how about a new browser on a separate computer?
February 18, 2022 at 9:45 pm #84217adminKeymasterDo you have any URLs in the settings or in the after login redirection configuration that is mixing up “http” and “https”? If you go from “http” to “https”, the login session will drop for security reasons. Sometimes when a site switches to using an SSL certificate, there are some URLs in the configuration (saved previously) that are still using the old “http” format which will cause the issue. So make sure to check all the emember configuration pages and update the URLs if it applies to you.
Also, are you using the following feature? If you are, temporarily deactivate it to make sure it is not conflicting with another plugin:
Using eMember with Another Plugin That Uses the WordPress User Roles
February 23, 2022 at 10:36 am #84220Es Web DesignParticipantHi, I was wondering if you had anything else for me in terms of tring to figure this out. Maybe my last note was not sent?
I checked all URLs – they are HTTP – no HTTPS.
No other plugins using WP User Roles.
Not sure what to do with this, client getting anxious. Do you think I need to set it up differntly, that my login/register screen is causing the problem.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it, would love to get this site up and running, this is the only issue they are waiting on for me to go live at the actual domain.

Have you done any in-person usability testing with the client, to determine if they understand your screens?
February 23, 2022 at 11:08 pm #84222adminKeymasterIs there any caching happening on this site? I will take a look at the setup to see if I can spot anything else. I will send you an email for it.
February 26, 2022 at 10:05 pm #84227adminKeymasterFirst thing I noticed is that you have some redirects set up on this site which needs to be turned off. These redirects (if not done correctly or if they are creating a conflict) can create a loop and cause login issues. Please deactivate all plugins and disable any redirects you have configured (maybe using a .htaccess file or via cPanel).
February 27, 2022 at 1:34 pm #84228Es Web DesignParticipantOkay, I don’t have any re-directs set up, but there is caching at this temporary domain. I’m going to make the site live at it’s actual location first think tomorrow morning and see if that resolves the problem. Stand by.
