Tagged: account status
Greetings,
We just launched the paid version of our memberships. Everything seems to be working fine, but there are a couple things we are confused about:
1. Whenever someone pays for a membership (new account), their account is created without a username, but the account is set to ‘Active’. Is this proper behavior? Once they click the link with the ‘Complete Registration’ email, select their username, etc., the account is then automatically set to ‘Pending’. So, I don’t believe that they’d be able to use the account before this step, since there is no username yet, but is it correct that the accounts are set to ‘Active’ once they are initially paid for & created by the system?
2. We have ‘Manually Approve Member Registration’ activated within eMember settings. Next to that option, it says, “If you want to manually approve the member after they register then check this option. A member’s account will be “Inactive” after registration and the member will not be able to log in until you manually set the status to “Active”.”
However, in our eMember, once the user has completed registration their account is set to “Pending”, not “Inactive”. Which should it be? We would just like to make sure that our system is operating properly.
Thank you!
Yeah thats expected behavior. The system is working fine. Basically, when you use “Manually Approve Member Registration” option, a member won’t be able to log into the site as a member until you (the admin) approve the account.
In the past we used to use the “inactive” status for this but now we use the “pending” status (this one was added recently). That help text just need to be updated in the plugin.
Great thank you!
