I purchased the WP Lightbox, and I want to start using it, but the WordPress theme I purchased is set up use Longtail JW PLayer. And unless you put the “video embed code” in the theme’s pre-supplied “video embed code” box, the whole design breaks. I like the idea of just using your shortcode in the body of my post, but it won’t wrk with my theme.
In a nutshell, I want to use your plugin, because I love the userinterface, but I need to use the longcode version, not the shortcode version. Is there a way I can use your player and just plug my movie url in somewhere (like a web form) and have it generate your embed code for me?
Thanks.

Now, go to the section in the HTML source that the lightbox ultimate plugin generated for the shortcode that you used. You can copy and paste that code and use it as your embed code. This code will be in HTML so you will need to paste it in the “HTML” view of your post or page.
May 13, 2011 at 10:24 pm #32405verityMemberI see instructions for embedding a Vimeo, YouTube, or Viddler movie. But I am using self-hosted videos, an I just want the embed code, not the lightbox code. I am at a loss. Please help.
May 14, 2011 at 1:20 am #32406amin007ParticipantThere is a shortocode for the following widely used self hosted movie file types:
– .mp4
– .mov
– .flv
– .swf
Have you checked this shortcode list?
What type of video files are you using?
May 14, 2011 at 2:47 am #32407verityMemberI am using mov files.
Here is the shortcode I’m using:
Code:[wp_lightbox_special_mov_video link=”http://veritychurchmedia.com/videos/preview-videos/00001_Squares_YellowOrangeBlue_Wide-H264_800Kbps_Streaming.mov” width=427 height=240 source=”http://veritychurchmedia.com/videos/stills/00001_Squares_Yellow_Orange_Blue/SquaresYellowOrangeBlueSTD_427x240_Poster.jpg” title=”Squares: Yellow, Orange and Blue”]The movie in the black bar at the top is done using another encoding method (JW Player). But it is glitchy. I want it to play smoothly and loop, like it does when I embed it using your code. But I need the movie to play in the black bar at the top, rather than in an overlay. For ease of finding the embed code, I referenced two different movie files. The one is the top black bar is named: “http://veritychurchmedia.com/videos/preview-videos/00001_Squares_YellowOrangeBlue_Wide-H264_800Kbps_Streaming.mov”.
The movie done using your shortcode is named “http://veritychurchmedia.com/videos/preview-videos/00001_Squares_YellowOrangeBlue_Watermark.mov”.

You want our lightbox plugin to not do lightbox and embed the video on a plain page?? The whole purpose of this plugin is to play the video in a lightbox and hence the name “Lightbox video Plugin”. You want our product to do something other than what it says on our sales page? What am I missing?
May 14, 2011 at 2:03 pm #32409verityMemberMy dear husband purchased your lightbox plugin because he really liked it. But when I started building our website, it turns out that the lightbox functionality was already built into the wordpress theme we purchased. But their video player doesn’t play as nicely as yours. So we’d like to figure out a way to use your embed code and video player (instead of theirs).
Is there another product of yours that we can purchase to help us get the embed code? I promise am not trying to be difficult. This is my first video site. I am just new to this and trying to figure it all out. And I really love your products and support and I want to find a way to use the great player that you guys made. Thanks.
May 14, 2011 at 3:33 pm #32410verityMemberI figured it out. I didn’t know that all I was trying to do was embed a quicktime movie. But once I figured out that source code, it worked perfectly. Even though I didn’t end of using your Lightbox plugin on this project, I will definitely use it on another project. Thanks for the great product and great forum. I will tell my friends about site whenever they need wordpress plugins. THANKS!
