Building a cart for a utility so customers can pay their water bill. Client REQUIRES the following information for accepting payment online: Account #, Last Name, First Name, Service Address (property address where the water service is received), Phone Number, and of course, amount to pay.
We need to collect this information BEFORE checkout. Is there a way to do this easily, or can I simply hire you to make the appropriate modification?
Thanks,
December 10, 2013 at 4:59 am #59541adminKeymasterPlease read the following post so you have a little more info on how eStore’s checkout works and why:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/collect-buyer-information-before-checkout
Given the type of site you are trying to setup, you are going to need an account management type plugin. That will allow each customer to have an account on the site and can do certain things when they are logged into the site.
You can use a membership plugin for user account management side of things. Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd video from the following page:

I think you are after that kind of setup.
December 11, 2013 at 1:17 pm #59542tincansunlimited.comMemberI would be after that kind of setup, but the client is being VERY specific. No account, no registration. Just bill pay, using Paypal, with the required information collected (even though it is NOT user-friendly and may require customers to enter information twice). I understand, but this is where we are at.
Can WP eStore do it as programmed, or is this a modification you could make for us?
Thanks,
Jeff
December 11, 2013 at 4:24 pm #59543wzpModeratorWhat country is the client located in? And will there be any account or address verification taking place, before checkout? Knowing this will ensure that we do not give you an answer that might violate local laws.
December 12, 2013 at 1:52 am #59544adminKeymasterIn addition to what wzp asked, are you going to use PayPal standard or PayPal pro?
December 12, 2013 at 3:17 pm #59545tincansunlimited.comMemberFolks,
It’s US based, using Paypal Pro. No address verification prior to checkout.
Thanks,
Jeff
December 12, 2013 at 11:12 pm #59546adminKeymasterOkay cool. For PayPal pro, I don’t think you have any issue to begin with. It does what you are after anyway. PayPal pro does the whole checkout onsite so with eStore it works like the following:
1) Customer adds item to the cart
2) Clicks the checkout button in the cart
3) Goes to a page with a form that take their details and credit card info
4) Then processes the the transaction and sends the customer to the “Thank You” page.
PayPal pro gateway is offered via the payment gateway bundle addon (see the following post for a summary):
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/wp-estore-and-payment-gateway-bundle
So have you got the payment gateway bundle addon already?
January 6, 2014 at 5:08 pm #59547tincansunlimited.comMemberOk, here’s the thing. I NEED for the shopping cart to collect information from the customer at the time of check out. I have purchased your gateway bundle – and it DOES NOT OFFER THIS OPTION. Why did you suggest it? What I really require here is a custom modification, not a plug in or other work-around. I want to provide my client with precisely what they are asking for.
I need the customer to be able to enter their customer ID #, Service Address (if different from billing address) and credit card information, then submit order.
Can you do that or refer me to someone who can?
Thanks,

January 7, 2014 at 1:39 am #59549adminKeymasterAre you using PayPal pro payment gateway? I asked you this question in my previous post. Do you understand the difference between PayPal pro and standard PayPal checkout?
