Hello Support, I’m using the eStore Plugin to sell one product on my website at [www.theyoungroyals.com]. I’m using a Buy Now button that is not provided by Pay Pal. When a sale occurs there is no shipping address information on the Pay Pal website for the customer, nor is the shipping information available in the email that PayPal sends to the seller. I called Pay Pal regarding this issue, and they said that the information to collect shipping is transmitted via the code attached to the button.
I have reviewed the posts pertaining to this problem and can’t find a solution to this problem that is specific to the eStore plugin.
How do I force Pay Pal to include the shipping address that they have on file in the purchase details in the email that they send to the seller and in the details of the transaction?
Thanks,
Karen

Therefore any payments made via credit card by non paypal members do not include shipping addresses. This turns into a problem because the way seller protection works per my conversation with paypal is you have some protection if you can prove you shipped the item to the address paypal has on file for a *shipping address*, not the billing address.
Billing addresses of non members are also not also automatically sent to the seller to ship to.
The only way around this that i know of so far is to make a button with in paypal, make sure “require shipping address” is checked in step 3 of their customize button area and use the pay pal button instead of the eStore button.
The alternative option on the link above to have the customer enter information after the sale on the thank you page won’t give you paypal seller protection against non members as that information is not transmitted to paypal.
September 11, 2012 at 3:08 am #41951adminKeymasterWP eStore will automatically set the *shipping address required* flag when your customers checkout a physical product. This will make it to where the customer will need to enter a shipping address when checking out via PayPal (credit card or PayPal account).
Post a link to the page where you have the purchase button for your physical product so I can see why it is not doing this.
What version of eStore are you using?
Are you using PayPal’s profile based shipping?
January 18, 2013 at 2:30 pm #41952jzalmanMemberI am having the same problem. Physical product, no shipping address is requested during the Paypal transaction. Looking at the button’s code created by eStore I find:
name=”no_shipping” value=’1′ which tells Paypal not to ask for shipping info.
Perhaps this is caused by the fact that the item does not have a separate shipping charge (it is included in the price)??
How to force the Paypal transaction to prompt for shipping address?

January 19, 2013 at 1:35 am #41953adminKeymasterYou are using a “Buy Now” type button with that product. So if you don’t specify any individual sipping cost for that product, the plugin assumes that it is a digital item and won’t make the shipping a requirement. Don’t you want to charge shipping for your physical product?
Simply enter the following value in the “Item shipping” field of that product if you don’t want to actually charge for shipping but want to collect the shipping address:
.001
If you want to charge for shipping (which is the normal behavior for physical item), then enter the amount in the “Item Shipping” field and it will charge shipping and collect the shipping info.
Let me know if that helps.

September 1, 2016 at 8:57 pm #41955titodjMemberI’m glad I found this..
I was about to post on the forum, I was pulling my hair out, because we did a “free shipping” promotion and we could not get the shipping addresses, It would be nice to have a “Free shipping” option for physical products…
