My Scenario – Please Guide Me

Hello All. Please guide me for my following scenario.

I’ll have 2 membership levels – Free and Premium, and lastly will also sell individually using WP eStore.

I have 5 FREE products (digital) that I want my FREE MEMBERS to get access to. I’m using the eMember Download Folder Protection so that they enter their login details before downloading.

I have 3 PREMIUM products (digital) which I want my PREMIUM MEMBERS to get access to (along with the free products of course). Therefore, the premium members can download ALL the products available from my side.

Now, of course, I would not at all want the free members to be able to download premium products. The problem that I’m facing is that when I add the products (both free and premium) into the eMember Download Folder Protection, they can be downloaded by ANY member. I cannot define each PRODUCT to be granted access to only a certain membership level. Hence, if the free members find out the premium product URLs, they can easily download by putting in their username-password.

So the question is that – how do I give access to PREMIUM products only to the PREMIUM MEMBERS? I want them to enter their username-password before downloading the products.

Here’s a quick BRIEF of what I want.

Free Members Can Download Free Products ONLY (which are placed inside the eMember download folder protection.) *Note – the download folder protection ALSO CONTAINS PREMIUM PRODUCTS!

Premium members can download all the products (free and premium).

Please guide me with the above scenario. Thank you!

eMember has both page protection and partial page protection. On the page where you display the download url’s, you can protect the part with the premium urls from being displayed to anybody except logged in premium members.

Try that and see if it doesn’t do what you need.

That’s not the problem. I’ll have different pages for Free and Premium members. The thing is to protect downloads if they find out the links. For example, you are a free member. Now if by any chance you get the DIRECT URL of the premium products, how can I restrict you from downloading that?

Because you see, the DOWNLOADS FOLDER PROTECTION in eMember doesn’t allow me to protect the downloads as per the membership level. It’s like ANY member can download the products (premium products as well) just by entering their login information.

Install eStore, and substitute “Download Now” buttons for the URL links. When the member clicks on the button, eStore will act as a “middle man” and obfuscate the true location of the file.
