Multiple membership levels for add on content

I am still left wondering the best way to handle my kind of content. I have memberships for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months which allows access to most of the content. Content is restricted by the time period not level. In other words there is no bronze, silver, gold.

However I also have content that is premium content which memberships can subscribe to. I am now breaking that down into two different premium contents.

I use your estore plug-in as well.

What I had envisioned is the premium content is available to those who want to buy it. There will always be more premium content added so it becomes an addon to their membership. Some members will want the additional premium content and others will not. I thought the multiple membership would work, but when someone buys a 6 month membership, how do I handle the addon content? In other words the premium content package 1 can be bought for 1 month to 6 months, but then what happens if their membership has just 94 days left and they buy 6 months of the premium. How do they log-in? What about those who have a 6 month membership but want the premium content for 1 month and then might not renew it again.

Can this be handled as an add-on product or does it mean adding more membership levels so basically when a member buys a membership it would be something like:

1 month regular content

1 month regular content + premium content 1

1 month regular content + premium content 1 + 2

1 month regular content + premium content 2

---

3 month regular content

3 month regular content + premium content 1

3 month regular content + premium content 1 + 2

3 month regular content + premium content 2

---

6 month regular content

6 month regular content + premium content 1

6 month regular content + premium content 1 + 2

6 month regular content + premium content 2

What would be the best way to handle premium content which is an addon to a membership but the premium content is also being updated regularly.

Is the Multiple Membership for this? If so how would it be structured. Thanks

I don’t think you need to do the multiple membership thing. I would do the following:

1) Have a standard premium membership level (Lets call it “Silver Level”)

2) Have another membership level for premium and the addon content (Lets call it “Gold level”)

You only need those two levels for your content protection strategy.

Now, if you want to allow different time duration for those level then you simply duplicate the above 2 levels for each time duration. So for a 6 month, you can create the following 2 levels (Everything same except the time duration):

i) Silver 6 Months

ii) Gold 6 Months
