I want to clarify this before I start setting it up
We’ll be selling products that will require logins to access the protected content page the information is on. It will not be practical to have separate logins for each product page.
When someone comes to our site do they “Have To” sign up for a specific membership or will any membership work. Then when they come back to buy something else it will be added to their existing account login.
If they have to start with a specific account how do they sign up for that. If we have to have people sign up for a specific account before they can add new products to their account how are people handling this.
So if we have 10 product areas and someone buys #6 can other products be added to this or does everyone have to start with the same account say #1?
Thanks

September 22, 2011 at 3:24 am #36860adminKeymasterYour user only has one login deatails (an user only logs into the site once). The membership level controls how much of the protected content this user can see (membership level is kind of like the permission settings of that user). You can apply multiple permission settings for one user if you use the “Additional Membership Levels” feature explained here:
When you use the above feature… every item this member purchases that is hooked to a membership level, the user will get that membership level applied to his/her profile (allowing the user to see that content).
September 23, 2011 at 1:51 pm #36861ChiefExpertsMemberI understand a user can have access to multiple memberships. I just want to clarify if they can “START” with any membership and then add more memberships or do they have to start with a “SPECIFIC” membership first?
I’m not totally clear about the note from the instructions in the above link:
Note: Remember, even though a member can have multiple membership levels assigned to them, there will still need to be a primary membership level for the member. When you use auto upgrade it will work based on the primary membership level of the member.
