I was wondering if I was the only person to experience multiple emails being sent to people who use the free download opt-in form for free digital delivery products.
I set it up on a new page and tested it. What I received were three different emails arriving a few minutes apart, each with different encrypted links. Each allowed me to download the zipped product file.
Is this normal? Is there a setting somewhere I’ve missed? It’s the first time I’ve tried the free download feature of this plugin.
If you want to test it for yourself, here’s the link to the page – [http://www.virtualassist.net/product-page/free-holiday-backgrounds-and-banners/]

well, now I’ve received 7 emails with different encrypted download links for the same download. Do you think it has anything to do with the setting for number of times I allow a download link to work. I did have it set at 7, just changed it to 1. Think I’ll try to sign up for the download again and see what happens.
That might actually have been the cause. I changed the number of download times available from 7 to 1, then I sign up again and only received 1 email.

You should only receive one email, for each time you request a download.
If you are getting multiple emails then that means the server is not sending a 200 (status OK) message back after the request is submitted. So it keeps doing the same thing a few times thinking the request didn’t reach the other end.
wzp – that’s what I thought would happen too, but that’s not what happened. All I know is what I had to do to get it to deliver only one email. Odd indeed.
What happens when you try using the Admin Functions page to send a single email message?
Ask your hosting provider why your server keeps re-sending the same email again and again (usually it happens if there is an handshake issue). They can look at the server log and correct the setup to fix the issue.
