I purchased the WP affiliates plugin and installed in on 2 domains.
1) domain-one.com – is new membership site using instamember plugin and payments via paypal. I installed the plugin and configured it to give 50% commission to JVs
2) I have a second site, domain-two.com when I am providing tailored services, and want to give JVs 20% commission (level 1 & level 2).
I would like a JV Partner of domain-one.com to earn commission on both affiliate platforms, i.e. they send traffic to domain-one.com using their affiliate link and earn 50% commission on new paid members of the domain-one.com, the new customer then gets redirects to domain-two.com (following a link in the domain-one.com membership site) and they make a purchase on domain-two.com site. I would like to reward the JV partner the 20% commission as set in the affiliate program configured on the domain-two.com site.
Question:
Can I do this if the JV Partner becomes a member of both affiliate programs (domain-one.com and domain-two.com) and sets up their account using the same affiliiate ID?
I assume the token dropped as a cookie on the customers browser from the JV Partner affiliate link is the same, and both instantiations of the affiliate plugin pick up the same token and can register the respective sale?
Note – how the JV is paid from which affiliate program depends on how i configure the transaction using paypal PDT token or the embeded affiliate shortcode.
Please clarify my understand and if this is possible?
If not do you have a solution to this? I dont want to use JVZoo or WSO so would prefer if you could offer this.
Thank you
Kind regards

Did you not receive the email? The email was sent to your [asit@minaxi.com] address. Please check your spambox also.
Below is a copy of the answer that was sent to you.
The following should be a good read for you (so you understand how WordPress plugins works when you are thinking of using more than one install of wp):
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/wp-multisite-install-and-plugin-behavior
You know what you have done with hour 1st domain? You can do that exact same thing with your other domains but set the commission to different rates. You just can’t use the ONE install of affiliate plugin then track it everywhere (let alone do different commission).

So just to confirm (FYI, I don’t have eStore), it is possible so long as I have multiple installs of the affiliate plugin, my affiliate use the same affiliate ID description and I manage the payments to my affiliates accordingly. i.e. each install of the affiliate plugin is a separate affiliate program.
Therefore, my affiliate can drive traffic to SITE A landing page with his affiliate ID embedded in the link, then if the visitor on SITE A clicks a link to SITE B landing pages (no affiliate ID in the link), any purchase / affiliate commission on SITE B is registered under the affiliate program managed by the affiliate plugin installed on SITE B – so long as the same affiliate ID is registered by my affiliate on BOTH affiliate programs (SITE A and SITE .
Is this correct?
May 22, 2016 at 12:07 pm #73278wzpModerator1. Affiliate ID are dependent on browser cookies.
2. Browser cookies are site dependent.
When a lead clicks a link, containing the Affiliate ID of affiliate “X,” that lands on site “A,” a cookie associating “X to A,” is created in the lead’s browser. Because of this association, of “X to A,” the cookie is site dependent. This binding of cookies to specific sites is how Internet browsing works, and cannot be changed.
If the lead then clicks on a link to site “B,” the association to affiliate “X” will be lost, unless the link also contains the affiliate ID of affiliate “X.”
May 23, 2016 at 10:35 am #73279asitsharmaParticipantOk, so we need to attach the affiliate id to each link in order for it to be registered in the browser.
In Dec, you sent me a revised plugin that enables me to attach the affiliate link to any sales page on any site. Here is the email:
=====================================================
You can use the following:
example.com/landing-page?ap_id=[wp_affiliate_your_id]
=====================================================
So, does the following work for 2 installs of the plugin on two sites (A +
a) Affiliate send traffic to site A with the following link, their unique affiliate id = salesperson
=> siteA.com/?ap_id=salesperson
b) On SiteA affiliate clicks a link that I have configured to another product on another site
= > siteB.com/?ap_id=[wp_affiliate_your_id]
Will the affiliate link id ‘saleperson’ be passed in the link to SiteB? So he can then get paid for sales made on SiteB (assuming the affiliate has set up 2 affiliate accounts on each site with the same affiliate id)

May 24, 2016 at 3:31 am #73280adminKeymasterYes that will work fine. As long as they click on an affiliate link from site A to go to site B, it is fine.

July 17, 2016 at 1:44 pm #73282asitsharmaParticipantHi, I just found a problem with my set up of the WP Affiliate Plugin.
You provided me with an updated version that allowed me to pass an affiliate token id in the url to an external site.
Let me explain
1) I have two affiliate accounts with the same id=asitbelucky on two instantiations of the WP Affiliate Plugin, these are on
=> siteA.com
=> siteB.com
The Problem
This affilliate sends a visitor to
=> siteA.com/done-for-you-services/?ap_id=asitbelucky
on this page is a banner with link configured
=> siteB.com/dfy-service-booking?ap_id=[wp_affiliate_your_id]
During testing, a user clicks on this banner and should reach the destination website url with the id token attached
i.e. it should be
siteB.com/dfy-service-booking?ap_id=asitbelucky
However, the following error message occurs
siteB.com/dfy-service-booking/?ap_id=Error!%20You%20are%20not%20logged-in%20as%20an%20affiliate
Please help fix this, thank you
Kind regards

July 18, 2016 at 3:57 am #73283adminKeymasterI don’t fully remember what I did for you (I will need more info as to what customization was done for you). However, the following shortcode is DEFINITELY NOT going to work for what you explained:
[wp_affiliate_your_id]
That one is a an standard shortcode in our plugin that shows the affiliate ID of the CURRENTLY logged-in affiliate. So if a user tries to view a page with that shortcode when logged into the system, it will produce that message and that is the CORRECT behavior.
A BETTER shortcode for you to use would be the following. It will show the affiliate ID (if any) for the referred visitor (who is viewing the page):
[wp_affiliate_referrer]
You would need to reply to the email conversation we had for your customization. That email will have critical info in terms of what was actually done for you. I most likely developed a NEW shortcode for you which does something different (you may have forgotten about that other shortcode).
July 18, 2016 at 2:57 pm #73284asitsharmaParticipantOk, thanks for the clarification.
I forwarded / replied to the email as requested (with the previous customized plugin your provided)
Please let me know when you receive?
FYI, I am having trouble getting your emails, hopefully when you reply I will get this one

July 19, 2016 at 2:54 am #73285adminKeymasterI have replied to the email. Google did give me a warning on the email that you sent to me. So not sure if that has something to do with the email getting blocked.
