MP4 Video Lightbox Overlay Popup Problem – Video OK, No Sound
I use WordPress 3.8.3
My code:
[wp_lightbox_mp4_video link=”http://www.lifestorypictures.dev/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/OS-Ch-3-Roots-Maria-7.mp4″ width=”” height=”” title=”title goes here” source=”http://www.lifestorypictures.dev/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/dummy-image-10-1024×10241-1024×10241-e1397434293681.jpg” autoplay=””]
The video plays with sound OK from my media library.
My .mp4 video is with Linear PCM Audio. Do I have to use something else?
Thanks.
April 18, 2014 at 3:38 am #62303wpCommerceModeratorHi, can you please provide a link to the page in question so I can take a look?
It usually happens when the video is not encoded properly. You can try encoding your video using a H.264 encoder (example: Handbrake) and see how it goes:

April 19, 2014 at 8:21 pm #62304jduke1MemberI thought I was doing it right.
I am using Apple Compressor to compress ProRes file into .264 format, then I change suffix .264 to .mp4.
I use Compressor for all my work including Blu-ray products.
What else should i try?
As I mentioned the file plays just fine in the media library. What happens between media library and your plugin!?
Please advise.
Thanks.
James.

May 1, 2014 at 4:12 pm #62306george@lvvMemberOpposite problem – MP4 audio plays, but no video.
Having problems with certain MP4 video files (not all) where audio plays OK, but video is black. Not solved when video put into full screen.
Running on HP Pavilion tx 2000 with Windows 7. All files processed with QTindexswapper2. WP eStore and Lightbox Ultimate plugins installed. Using WordPress 3.9. MP4 file created in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, H264 encoding set as Apple Large with audio set to mono.
Tried searching for this problem on forum, but couldn’t find solutions that seem relevant.
Searched on “video all black”, “audio OK, no video”, “MP4 audio Plays But No Video”, “video not playing” and “mp4 audio plays only, video is black”
Audio plays (after slight delay) but not video. Even changed the viewing size, but still not fixed.

The video file above, that only plays audio online, plays with no problem from hard drive using QuickTime player.
A page that works, with a MP4 file processed the same way.

The code used in the “z_fullversion_oneperpage” page is the generic page code used to create the “Direct Mail Copywriting ABC Page 1 of 5” — where the video is black.
Another page that works with a MP4 file processed the same way.

On S3, tried converting from private to public. Some files played OK, others reported as corrupted. Deleted all files in S3 bucket. Then re uploaded one file – but still not working right.
Saw this in the forum….
“It turned out that the video bitrate was too high. Encoding the video with a lower bitrate helped solve this issue.”
….but MP4 files working OK all process with same bit rate as videos with black video. Doesn’t seem a solution.
Thanks. GW
