1. If I add a person to a secondary buyers list after purchase, can we also remove them from the original opt-in list? ie move someone from freebie to buyers list. Mailchimp doesn’t seem to do this via an automation rule. So I’m thinking another api call from eStore to remove from list a when person is added to list b.
2. Can we ask the customer to opt-in to a list at the time of purchase, or is it okay to automatically add them to a list when they buy? Mail chimp says not to really do this, but if there was a checkbox or something upon checkout I could then add them without opt-in.
1) We don’t have an option for that. The way eStore works is that your customer is buying a product so they are being signed up to a product specific list. Why would you need to move them if they are buying another product? You should just add them to that product’s list too.
2) It is totally okay to just add them because they still have to confirm the opt-in (unless you disable the double opt-in option). If they don’t want to, they can simply ignore the opt-in confirmation email. You can also explain it on your checkout page to explain to your customers how it works.
