Hello!
The email receipt I get as a seller from the plugin works great but the merchant email receipt I receive from Authorize says only “cart checkout” in the Description field – even though the customer receipt does contain the description. Since I’m planning to use the merchant receipt for bookkeeping I need to know what product they sold. I contacted Authorize and they said that this was handled through the shopping cart and to contact the cart developer. Help?
March 17, 2012 at 5:13 am #43110adminKeymasterWP eStore doesn’t submit any value to authorize.net that says “Cart Checkout”. Are you talking about the standard authorize.net gateway that comes with eStore or the Authorize.net AIM provided by the payment gateway bundle?
Also, please post a link to your site so I can do a checkout and see what value is getting submitted and verify.
March 17, 2012 at 2:28 pm #43111Karen ClarkMemberI’m sorry it is http://www.mybusinessprsence.com You can try it on the books/CDs etc. under Products if you like. Or if you use http://www.mybusinesspresence.com/online-meetings-direct-sales/ you can use discount code TESTINGWOW to make it a 1 cent test.
I am using the regular authorize.net gateway that comes with eStore I think (not sure what AIM even is so I think I’m not using it!?) Oh I do have a separate plugin called WP eStore & Authorize.net – is that what you mean?
This is the merchant email receipt from the 1 cent test I did (it is the same on regular orders when there are products too and it doesn’t matter that I left address etc blank for this test)
THANKS!
Karen

March 18, 2012 at 12:15 am #43112PeterMemberHi,
I’ve noticed the string “cart checkout” is actually being sent from authorize.net in the IPN message too. Below is an excerpt:
“…..x_invoice_num=79, x_description=cart checkout, x_type=auth_capture…..”
March 18, 2012 at 4:19 am #43113adminKeymasterThank you for the details. What do you want to change this “cart checkout” message to?
March 19, 2012 at 9:48 pm #43114Karen ClarkMemberI would like it to actually have the purchase description – what the person bought. Isn’t that what it is supposed to have? The receipt has nothing about what they bought, only their contact info.
March 19, 2012 at 11:51 pm #43115adminKeymasterAccording to authorize.net… that description field has a limit of 255 characters and is meant to be used for a generic description of the checkout. You can’t put too much information there as it has a limit. However, I can add the product ID numbers (comma separated) in that field as it won’t take that much space. Here is an example value:
Cart Checkout: 1,2,3,4
This way you will have some indication of which items those are. Let me know if that will work.
Remember, the all product information is sent to authorize.net via other fields suggested by authorize.net
March 19, 2012 at 11:53 pm #43116Karen ClarkMemberSure – that would work!
March 21, 2012 at 6:51 am #43117adminKeymasterI have made this change in the plugin. Please get a new build of the plugin and you will see this change.
