These may be related:
I deleted a membership level that was redundant. I then noticed that ALL members have had their membership levels reset to the same level (as it happens, the topmost level in the drop-down box).
While trying to fix this, I realized that changing the member’s membership level to the correct one and pressing “submit” did not save the change. This happened with any member, or in trying to change the active/inactive status.
Using “WP eMembers – Members v5.0.8”, in the “WP eMembers – Manage WordPress Members” admin screen.
This is rather an urgent deal, as purchasers mostly have the wrong membership level and cannot access their downloads (all members can access a single download page tied to that membership level).
Ideas?
Thanks!

When you edit a member who do not belong to a membership level will show the topmost level in the drop-down box as a membership level cannot be empty but you should be able to select the correct level and save it.
Ideally before deleting a level you want to make sure that no member belongs to that level. Anyway, I will send you an email.

Which is what I would expect it to do. But ALL members’ levels changed to the same level. I have 24 different levels, depending on what product was purchased, and I know not all of them purchased the same thing…. heh!
I did not receive an email from you. I received one from Ivy (was that the e-mail?) with a link to the update file, which I applied.
After installing the update, still no luck changing a saving the membership level, or the active/inactive status. It gives an error message (‘unable to save…” or simply does nothing except refresh the screen with no changes.
Ideas?
Thanks!

April 19, 2010 at 3:32 pm #19830GraphicBassMemberOK, I found the e-mail from Ivy with updates to eStore (and Affiliate). Thanks — it went to another inbox and I missed it the first time around.
I applied the upload, but there is no change to the membership level. I still cannot change the membership level for each member to the correct one (or at least, if it’s right in the database, it doesn’t show in the screen). Same for the active/inactive status.
I’ve had to take down my file download page until this is resolved, otherwise, member have access to files they did not pay for, and conversely, don’t have access to the files they did pay for.
Waiting for more ideas.
Thanks!

April 20, 2010 at 1:42 am #19831IvyMemberHi Gary, I updated your plugin for you and tested the issue on my membership (ivy). The problem should be fixed now. Please test this and let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
April 20, 2010 at 4:24 am #19832GraphicBassMemberIvy, you’re the best! Thanks!
The proper levels are displaying for everyone.
One non-urgent question, just for my own curiosity: I’m trying to understanding how the “Add Existing WordPress Members” function works.
I would expect that once added to the WP eMember database, members would no longer display on this list.
Not a big deal, as all members from here on out will come through the plugin, but this has cause me much consternation….
Anyway, thanks for your help.
